The GMCA in partnership with the Environment Agencyand United Utilities, is spearheading the Integrated WaterManagement Plan (IWMP). This initiative is dedicated to: Developingand implementing a new way of working, that will enablecollaboration and integration across multiple partners. Deliveringcommitted investment programmes whilst leveraging added value.Accelerating the implementation of natural flood managementinterventions in key locations - to lower carbon emissions,increase our resilience to climate change and enhance nature,peoples well-being and the quality of towns and cities. Managingwater wherever it falls to prevent rainwater from entering thecombined sewage system, reducing surface water flood risk andimproving water quality. Ensuring new developments are delivered inpartnership and in accordance with committed standards and bestpractice. We are looking for a lead analyst with experience of GISvisualisation and analysis, appraisal business case development tojoin the team. A background in planning, infrastructure or watersectors would be a bonus but is not necessary. If you can show aninterest in water management and analysis to support this excitinginitiative wed be pleased to hear from you. Secondments from theEnvironment Agency, water sector, local authorities and TfGM arewelcome. Thesuccessful candidate will be comfortable with geospatial data andanalysis. They should also be able to interpret asks from policyteams and show ability to work with people from multipleorganisations. We are looking for someone who can show us they:have experience of undertaking research and analysis, includingdelivering research projects, appraisals or business cases. areconfident and comfortable in sourcing, analysing and presentingcomplex geospatial information to specialist and non-specialistaudiences to inform policy development and delivery of services.have strong analytical capabilities (quantitative or qualitative),with evidence of working with complex geospatial data sets,including data visualisation skills. skills in map-making anddesigning clear, informative maps and visual representations thatcan communicate insights effectively to stakeholders. possessexcellent writing and presentation abilities (to present technicalmaterial to non-technical audiences). have strong interpersonalskills to work with various stakeholders, internally andexternally. have, or are interested in developing, an awareness ofthe infrastructure policy local and nationally. have, or areinterested in developing, an awareness of the political landscapeof Greater Manchester both locally and nationally. are eager tolearn new techniques and approaches you are self-motivated and ableto use your own initiative to take work forward. are committed toequality and diversity, both within your work, and the widerworkplace. This experience may come from previous work experience,lived experience, or academic study. Candidates are likely to haveprior experience working in a related field, such as (but notlimited to) infrastructure, environment, water, transport, orsustainable lifestyles.
