ECOM are partnered with an exciting software development company based in Manchester who are looking for a Head of Data Science.
As the Head of Data Science, you will be at forefront of the technical and strategic vision in the analytics and data science domain. Your expertise and leadership experience in the data science domain will help influence and shape the future of data-driven products. Working closely with C-suite management, you will set the direction on how to leverage technology towards future goals.
Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
- Leading the UK Data Team (8 Direct reports)
- Collaborate with the engineering and product practices.
- Team management, including recruitment, onboarding, and developing top talent, ensuring that the team has the skills, resources and support needed to excel in their roles.
- Partner closely with C-Suite management to present project / product results
- Help drive end to end data science and implement AI / Machine Learning
- Ensuring that all data science deliverables meet the highest standards of quality, accuracy, reliability and implement rigorous testing and validation processes to validate model performance and mitigate risks.
- Leading the end-to-end process of model development, including data collection pre-processing, feature engineering, model selection, training, evaluation, and validation
Who You Are:
- Have a master’s or PhD in Computer Science, Statistics, Physics, Machine Learning or related field.
- Proven track record of successfully leading Data / Machine Learning teams
- Experienced in building and deploying a variety of models.
- Excellent communication skills and collaboration skills with the ability to work with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to communicate effectively and explain technical / complex concepts to non-technical stakeholders
- Experienced in Python, SQL, Tensorflow and a cloud platform

Operating with a hybrid business model, you'll be required to come into the Manchester office 2 days per week to collaborate with fellow colleagues.
