The Opportunity:As the Clinical Data Enablement (CDE) Head of Data Reporting and Analytics, you will lead a globally distributed team focused on the generation and support of data reporting and analytics that will enable efficient study execution and related decision-making on clinical results data captured during the conduct of Astellas Phase I-IV clinical trials using Astellas provided technologies. This includes using various programming languages and/or systems to produce reports, visualizations, and data insights. Actual data review and data cleaning will be performed by other roles and/or functions. Key Responsibilities:
Acting as the primary contact and subject matter expert for the Data Aggregation team responsible for resource planning, workload assignment (allocation and prioritization), issue resolution, and related escalations to the Data Science Lead Team (DS LT). Performing functional management responsibilities for a team of individuals that will be managed in accordance with applicable HR and legal requirements. Ensuring the provision and maintenance of data reporting and analytics for Astellas-led Phase I-IV clinical trials using Astellas technologies in support of efficient study execution and related decision-making, including incorporation of emerging approaches to such activities. Participating in the selection, oversight, and governance of any vendors providing data reporting and analytical capabilities and/or support for such capabilities. Led collaboration with representatives from areas performing data management, medical review, etc. to define study-level requirements and ensure that any issues with reporting and analytics identified during study conduct are addressed as appropriate. Developing and maintaining reporting and analytics, as needed.
Essential Knowledge & Experience: Effectively managed resource capacity and developed related strategies. Implemented policies and/or procedures that will improve operations. Contributed to related technical and/or process improvement initiatives associated with data reporting and analytical capabilities within the department and across Astellas broadly. Significant pharma or CRO industry experience working on global clinical studies and projects or global process and system initiatives. Extensive experience with implementing and supporting reporting and analytics to enable decision-making. Preferred Experience: Prior experience with people management responsibilities. Experience in using at least one programming language (i.e. R, Python, SAS, SQL, etc). Demonstrated ability and experience in leading global process or system improvement projects. Knowledge of data standards in industry (CDISC, CDASH). Education/Qualifications: BS or MS degree, preferably in Computer Science, Informatics/Data Science, or life science discipline or equivalent.
