We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic Graduate Data Scientist to join our growing data team. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate to kickstart their career in a dynamic environment, contribute to impactful projects, and develop their skills in a wide range of data science disciplines. We value diverse experiences and understand that a gap year during university can bring valuable life skills and perspectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Analysis & Exploration:Perform detailed data analysis, identify trends, patterns, and anomalies, and extract actionable insights from various datasets.
  • Model Development:Assist in the development, testing, and deployment of machine learning and statistical models under the guidance of senior data scientists.
  • Data Visualisation & Reporting:Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI to communicate complex data insights clearly and effectively to stakeholders.
  • Data Collection & Preparation:Support data collection, cleaning, transformation, and validation processes to ensure data quality and integrity.
  • SharePoint Collaboration:Utilise SharePoint for document management, team collaboration, and potentially for data source integration or automation where applicable.
  • AI Application:Explore and apply AI/ML techniques to solve business problems, including but not limited to predictive analytics, natural language processing, or computer vision (depending on company focus).
  • Stakeholder Communication:Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Continuous Learning:Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in data science, machine learning, and AI, and proactively identify opportunities for skill development.
  • Collaboration:Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, product managers, and business stakeholders, to understand requirements and deliver data-driven solutions.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrable experience with data analysis techniques and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in at least one programming language commonly used in data science (e.g., Python, R).
  • Experience in creating and publishing interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint, particularly its use in collaborative environments or for data management.
  • Basic understanding of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) concepts and algorithms.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Desirable Skills & Experience:

  • Experience with SQL for data extraction and manipulation.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, GCP) and their data services.
  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Any practical experience gained during a gap year at university that demonstrates problem-solving, analytical thinking, or transferable skills (e.g., project management, independent learning). Please highlight this in your application if applicable.
