Founded in 2020, Gunzilla Games is the independent AAA video game developer and publisher behind the free-to-play mobile game TECHNOCORE, the gamer-first blockchain GUNZ, and the upcoming next-gen battle royale Off The Grid, in three metropolitan locations: Frankfurt, Germany (HQ); Kyiv, Ukraine; and London, UK. ABOUT THE JOB

Gunzilla Games is seeking a Game Economy Director to partner with game leaders and the Economy Design team to develop growth and economy strategies for our game OTG (Off The Grid), an all-new AAA Battle Royale 2.0 third-person shooter, due for release on PlayStation®5, Xbox® Series X|S and PC.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Design and implement in-game economies that enhance revenue while maintaining player engagement and retention.
  • Identify optimal demand elasticities to create balanced economies that satisfy players and drive business growth.
  • Collaborate with Product and Data Science teams to define and evolve the game economy, influencing new feature development.
  • Set pricing strategies for in-game items, including collectables and other purchasable assets.
  • Adjust and fine-tune in-game currency to ensure a healthy and dynamic economic system.
  • Develop both micro and macroeconomic models to support various aspects of the game economy.
  • Utilize player segmentation to identify new target groups and refine economy-related features accordingly.
  • Run simulations and build predictive models to forecast the impact of changes to content and economy dynamics.
  • Lead the economic design of projects, ensuring coherence with broader product goals.
  • Provide strategic direction and support to teams, guiding the economic strategy for individual titles.
  • Work closely with the main game and companion product's economy, recommending actionable changes and opportunities for new features.
  • Establish best practices across the product landscape for economic tuning, modelling, impact measurement, and ongoing monitoring.
  • Partner with development teams to ensure new features integrate smoothly with existing economies and identify high-impact opportunities within product roadmaps.
  • Mentor and train product managers and designers in economic analysis, modelling, and the execution of well-balanced economies.
  • Stay informed of market trends and best practices through research and apply insights to improve the game's economy.
  • Contribute to the overall strategy and planning for the game and product portfolio, ensuring economic considerations are a key part of decision-making.

REQUIREMENTS

  • 7+ of experience in game design or product management, with a strong focus on economic systems.
  • At least 5 years specializing in game economy design roles.
  • Expertise in creating models, running simulations, and forecasting economic changes affecting key business metrics.
  • Proven ability to mentor and coach team members effectively.
  • Capable of managing economic systems across multiple game titles and initiatives simultaneously.
  • Senior-level experience managing game economies for AAA Multiplayer or FPS titles.
  • Experience leading teams and economy analysts.

PLUSSES

  • Proficient in analytical coding, with skills in tools such as Python, R, Matlab, and Excel.
  • Solid knowledge of SQL for database management and analysis.
  • Strong understanding of numerical simulation methods like Monte Carlo and other advanced techniques.
  • Familiarity with the mobile gaming sector or similarly complex customer-facing digital environments.
  • Deep understanding of advanced statistical methods, particularly for analyzing highly skewed data sets.
  • Experience in predictive analytics, player segmentation, and experimental design methodologies.
  • Proficient with reporting tools such as QlikView, Tableau, or similar platforms.
  • Experience in web3 products and tokenomics.
