About Fractal

Fractal is creating the first ‘Human x Agentic Orchestration Layer’. This layer sits across both human and agent intelligence, passing work from human to machine (model, agent, tool), and back again. 92% of Fortune 500 companies use GPTs, but there has been a less than 1% shift in holistic company output. Simply put, AI is only being called at the task-level. The solution is a new system for work, human-agentic systems.

Our core product, Fractal, is a platform that enables companies to build, manage, and scale human-agentic teams through graph-based workflow maps, delegating specific nodes to the right human or machine, at the right time. Our mission? To enable any business in the world to punch above their weight and scale independent of headcount.

About the Role

As part of the Founding Team, you'll be at the forefront of defining how AI orchestration works, looks, and feels at scale.

You will propel and co-shape our Software Engineering team to define and build world-beating product. Working tight with our Machine Learning team, you will work across the full stack of our platform, developing its capabilities directly alongside our CTO. You will be expected to take ownership and initiative to push Fractal as far as possible, enabling our team to lead and win a new $1.5Trillion market.

You will have the opportunity to learn new technologies and apply them in a fast-paced environment, seeing the direct impact of your work in the product rapidly. From design to deployment, you'll be part of a cycle where your contributions quickly translate into real-world applications, helping shape the future of our product.

Responsibilities

Front-end:

• Building user interfaces using HTML, CSS, and TypeScript
• Working with front-end frameworks like React, Angular, or Vue.js
• Ensuring responsive design and cross-browser compatibility
• Optimizing application performance and load times

Back-end:

• Developing server-side logic and APIs in Python and using Django
• Managing databases and writing queries
• Implementing security measures and authentication
• Working with and maintaining servers and deployment infrastructure

Additional ownership:

• Version control (using Git)
• Testing and debugging across the entire stack
• Collaborating with designers, product managers, and other developers
• Participating in code reviews and documentation
• Optimising applications for scalability

Required Experience

Your experience will match well with the following. We are not box tickers. Above all, we value drive, work rate, and tenacity. 

Education and Qualifications:

• Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, or related field (though not always required)
• Portfolio of personal or professional projects. The more indepednent you are, the better.

Technical Skills and Experience:

• 3+ years of development and engineering experience
• Strong ability in JavaScript/TypeScript
• Experience with at least two major front-end framework React and one other
• Familiarity with Python and other back-end languages like Java, or Node.js
• Database experience (both SQL and NoSQL)
• Understanding of web protocols and REST APIs
• DevOps knowledge (CI/CD, deployment)

Strong Candidates Should Also Have

• Building complete web applications from start to finish
• Working in an Agile development environment
• Collaborating with cross-functional teams
• Problem-solving and debugging across different layers
• Writing clean, maintainable code
• Experience with version control systems
• Working in Cloud computing environments
• Experience with ML and LLMs useful

• Task with CSO: we want to see how you take ownership and approach problems
• Final interview with CEO & CSO: we want to understand cultural fit and how you slot into our team.
