EIT Oxford is investing significant resources in a new world-class research and development facility in the Oxford Science Park. Set for completion in 2027, the state-of-the-art campus includes 300,000 sq ft of research laboratories, an oncology and preventative care clinic, and educational and meeting spaces. Together, they create the perfect environment for EIT Oxford experts to take ground-breaking ideas from research to broad implementation. The new facility will further EIT's current partnership with the University of Oxford and become the new home for Ellison Scholars.

Requirements

We are actively recruiting for skilled and experienced Finance Business Partners (FBP) to be an integral part of the Finance - Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team that plans, analyses, and reports the financial and operational aspects of dedicated initiatives and programmes. The FBP will facilitate and drive forward understanding of dedicated cost base and add value to the business by assisting in the strategic, commercial, and operational decision-making through reporting, planning and analytical capabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Budgeting, Forecasting & Monthly Reporting

  • Prepare annual budget and quarterly re-forecasts for designated business areas; ensuring accurate financials, providing insights to variance trends and submitting deliverables to required deadlines.
  • Produce monthly reports for budget holders and leadership on delivery against departmental budgets, including insightful variance analysis.

Business Partnering

  • Act as a trusted advisor to budget holders, providing financial insights to support decision-making.
  • Work closely with other departments to align financial strategies with business objectives, including analysing costs and recommending strategies for best use of resource.
  • Develop innovative solutions to complex problems and support change implementation and delivery.
  • Continuous improvement of Finance's processes and management initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Qualified accountant (ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with a strong academic background.
  • You will be working as a Finance Business Partner and be able to demonstrate relevant experience through a career that shows continuous growth and advancement.
  • Experience in the preparation of financial and performance reports including an understanding of MI reporting.
  • An excellent communicator with the ability to challenge and influence at senior levels with integrity and fairness.
  • Experience of ERP, Planning and Reporting platforms, experience of Oracle Fusion is a plus.
  • Will have worked in roles where you have been responsible for preparing and presenting management information.
  • Experience of working with management accounting methodology.
  • Able to explain complex financial information and concepts in a clear and concise format to non-financial individuals.
  • Results-oriented and proven track record of relevant past achievements in driving and improving business results.
  • Strong numerical acumen.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office Products particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Ability to engage and effectively build relationships with business stakeholders across functions from all levels of the organisation.
  • Proactive self-starter who is a highly organised individual with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Will be comfortable in a busy role where it will be essential to plan and prioritise a busy workload.
  • Ability to use initiative to deal with unstructured and ad hoc issues.
  • Innovative with drive for efficiency and continuous improvement.

Nice to have but not essential:

  • Relevant business degree preferred but not essential.
  • Have worked in similar industries i.e. pharmaceutical, life science.

  • You must have the right to work permanently in the UK with a willingness to travel as necessary.
  • You will live in, or within easy commuting distance of, Oxford.
  • During peak periods, some longer hours may be required and some working across multiple time zones due to the global nature of the programme.
