The ESG Analytics Business Analyst role is an exciting opportunity for someone who has both a passion for Sustainability and Data.


We are looking for someone who combines data analytics technical skills and experience with strong business analysis skills and an inquisitive mindset - ideally someone with successful previous experience as an Analytics Business Analyst, Technical Business Analyst or similar role. You will also be required to develop a good understanding of sustainability topics, the Bank's processes with supporting our sustainability strategy.


The individual will be focussing initially on the data analytics deliverables to support meeting regulatory requirements such as Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), EU Taxonomy and the Basel Capital Requirements Regulation 3 (CRR3).



Accountabilities & Responsibilities:



Acting as key part of the Data Office interface with the Sustainability Data & Technology Business Owner and Project Manager for ESG related requests.
Establishing and maintaining productive cross-functional relationships with a network of business, data, and technology teams. as well as external suppliers.
Managing a prioritised pipeline of new Data Analytics ESG demand along with features requests for live ESG Data Analytics products.
Facilitating meetings with stakeholders at all levels of the organisation to elicit, clarify, translate, and document business requirements (functional and non-functional) as well as generate user stories.
Analysing and documenting business requirements and working with relevant teams to create appropriate technical documentation to facilitate the necessary governance approvals and underpin delivery of the data analytics products.
Liaising with ESG Data Governance resource/s and Data Hub Product Owner to ensure that data provisioning and data governance activity is aligned with analytics delivery.
Collaborating with a range of technical and non-technical audiences to quality assure delivery of data analytics products through design development and UAT ensuring the end-product meets the documented business requirements.
Supporting the rollout and adoption of ESG analytics products.
Collaborating with the wider data family, including analysts, engineers, and product managers
Supporting the implementation of the EMEA Data Strategy Framework and the EMEA Sustainability Strategy.



Skills & Experience:



Experience working in a data team and collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify, scope and develop data analytics solutions.
Strong SQL skills with demonstrable experience of undertaking detailed data discovery and documenting technical specifications for onward use in the design and development of Data Analytics Products.
Experience of working with all data types, of analysing raw and aggregated data, diverse and complex data sets as well as reviewing transformation logic.
Solid understanding and experience of supporting the full Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) as relevant to data analytics including but not limited to: requirements gathering, design approvals, development, testing and release.
Demonstrable experience of defining, documenting, and applying appropriate testing methodologies to quality assure development and delivery of analytics products.
A good understanding of, and experience of applying, project management principles and approaches like waterfall and agile.
Experience of working in the financial services industry and with a good working understanding of the Sustainability / ESG data domainincluding typical data used to assess sustainability performance and risk, as well as current data limitations. A familiarity with ESG related regulations e.g., EU Taxonomy, CSRD and ISSB would be a bonus.
Experience with using Power BI and/or Tableau to develop interactive data driven dashboards.
Experience using Alteryx or similar data preparation applications to clean and transform data.
Experience of working in an organisation that has rolled out self-serve analytics tooling at enterprise level.
Knowledge of emerging trends and issues within the Data Analytics and Data Science landscapes
Experience working with cloud environments & components (e.g., AWS, Azure)
