About the Role
In this role you will be working in a team of Enterprise and Business Architects. The Content & Publishing Enterprise Architect (EA) is accountable for designing an architecture to modernise the technology capability of content lifecycle management, asset management, publishing processing and IP terms, rights and royalties areas within the business to meet their strategic goals and move towards a digital first model. This role is responsible for defining both the technology plans and the conceptual and logical target architectures and roadmaps. It is also ultimately accountable for assuring the designs that define the implementation of the production systems.
In addition to core business priorities, the Content & Publishing EA must also consider the broader technology factors (e.g. data, technology and integration) in defining and delivering the technical enablers to support the business strategy. This will require a highly collaborative style, engaging with a range of senior business stakeholders and Group Technology colleagues, to ensure a seamless and integrated capability is delivered. They will use their industry knowledge to challenge and influence the outcome to ensure the best outcome for the Press.
We operate a hybrid working policy that requires a minimum of 2 days per week in the Oxford office.
About You
We are looking for someone with a background in the publishing industry and/or strong product lifecycle management experience for a digital first company. Product lifecycle management and master data management experience will also make you a stand out.
Knowledge, Skills & Attributes -
Essential:
- First-class skills and significant experience in the definition of architectural artefacts e.g. architectural models, roadmaps, strategies, principles, standards, patterns etc.
- Good knowledge of one or more architecture modelling & notation techniques (methods)
- Experience in Product Information Management Systems (PIM), Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), Content / IP Asset Management, Rights and Royalties Management, ideally across both traditional and digital / virtual products, as well as value-adding digital services
- Demonstrable experience of dramatically improving PLM or Product & Content Creation & Management maturity in content delivery organisations
- Experience of leading technology and architecture for large-scale modernisation / transformation programmes.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Desirable:
- Good experience of Business Architecture concepts eg capability models
- Knowledge of relevant industry trends such as Generative AI, Digital Transformation, Sustainable IT, Platform Engineering
- Knowledge and understanding of world class technology suppliers with a strong external perspective on developments and trends in technology
- Experience of Model-Based-Design to support Product Lifecycle Management
- Establishing, running and leading technology design and governance forums compatible with fast moving Product Lifecycle Management
- Experience and good knowledge of rights management process and supporting architectures in a traditional and digital content delivery environment
- Knowledge and experience of any of the following: RPA, Machine Learning, BPM, BRM, Workflow
- Understanding or the attributes of various software and systems architecture models i.e. Microservices SOA, Event-Driven Architectures, REST etc
- Conflict Management & Negotiation Skills
