We are seeking an Engineering Manager who has experience building great customerfocused products and applications at scale. In this role you will use the latest technologies while focusing on delivering value for our users. We are looking for someone with experience developing software engineers and who knows how to grow them and make teams effective.

Trust and Transparency team:

The Trust and Transparency team are focused on upholding the core values of Trustpilot by building and maintaining user Trust. Were building a new squad committed to enhancing the integrity of our platform. As Engineering Manager of this newly formed squad you will lead a smallmedium sized team and work crossfunctionally with teams including Product Management Data Science and Data Analytics!

Across the three Trust teams we leverage AI and Machine Learning process highvolume data to combat fake reviews promote trustworthy content streamline and automate processes providing a consistent and credible user experience and ensure all parties involved with Trustpilot are operating fairly by our terms of use. In our rapidly evolving workplace the contributions of each team engineer are vital in maintaining and enhancing the service and experience that Trustpilot is recognised for.

What youll be doing:

  • Manage one mediumsized team fostering a culture of collaboration accountability and high performance
  • Define track and drive key success metrics for team performance system reliability and fraud detection effectiveness ensuring measurable business impact
  • Manage the delivery of major initiatives and balance delivery with sustainable engineering practices
  • Work closely with Product Data Science & Analytics and other stakeholders
  • Define and prioritise deliverables for new products/enhanced functionality coordinating crossfunctional scoping and feasibility to support business and customer needs
  • Collaborate with the engineering leadership to engage develop and retain skilled team members
  • Manage and mitigate highrisk elements of initiatives clearly communicate issues risks and dependencies with stakeholders escalating where appropriate
  • Ensure teams have high technical proficiency and aim for quality
  • Develop and support a great team of skilled and motivated engineers setting clear expectations via constant feedback and 1:1s practices
  • Facilitate the advancement of team members through the creation of developmental opportunities and targeted skill enhancement via mentoring and professional coaching
  • Build a positive and consistent work environment based on transparency accountability and trust

Who you are:

  • You are currently working as an Engineering Manager in a Product/Customerdriven environment where you have managed a smallmedium sized team on top of an experienced fullstack software engineering background
  • Extensive background in highvolume scalable distributed systems
  • Experience with cloud services such as AWS or Google Cloud and best practices for scalable infrastructure
  • Experience developing and deploying Fullstack services including React CSS TypeScript Node.js Database management and API integrations
  • Ability to use data and metrics to inform decisions effect change and align engineering efforts with business goals
  • Extensive stakeholder management experience with a focus on working with the wider business and the ability to create alignment across teams
  • Solid background in API technologies and usage and a comprehensive knowledge of Agile Methodology
  • Experience in coaching mentoring and growing your team and empowering each of them to be at their best
  • An aspiration to contribute to the future of Trustpilot and the ability to make crucial technical decisions in a pragmatic way
  • You explore cloud and SaaS platforms and make use of the services it provides
