Barking & Dagenham, North East London Foundation Trust is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Registered Nurse with a Specialist Practitioner qualification to work in the Integrated Care Team , as a Band 7 District Nurse Team Leader. 

You will need to be able to demonstrate the following essential criteria skills for the post:

Excellent clinical Skills Managerial Skills Leadership Skills Communication skills Information Technology (IT) Skills The ability to travel between sites Non medical or community Nursing Prescribing 

 The post holder will be responsible for the delivery of safe care to a caseload of patients allocated to the team, including being professionally and legally accountable. 

The post holder will also line manage a team of Community Nurses and Health Care Support Workers. They will supervise and appraise staff members and students.

The post holder must possess excellent leadership and communication skills.

The post holder must hold a valid UK driving licence.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will be a Registered Nurse ideally with Specialist Practitioner qualification, and experience of working within the community setting. They will be responsible for a locality caseload of patients allocated to them and will assess, manage, plan and deliver care, including being professionally and legally accountable. 

The post holder will support their peers and locality lead and be an effective team member whilst working on their own initiative. They will supervise staff members and students.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff). 

High Cost Area Supplement - London
This post attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,551 and a maximum payment of £5,735 per annum pro rata).
