Are you a 2nd-year University student studying Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or a related field? Looking for real-world experience in data science and analytic?

At Saint-Gobain Digital, we're offering a 12-week summer internship as a Data Scientist where you'll gain hands-on experience working on a critical business challenge within our industry-leading digital team.

What You'll Be Doing

As a Data Scientist / Analyst Intern, you will:
Work alongside our Digital Data team and key business stakeholders to deliver data insights and recommendations.
Analyze real business data (e.g., product purchases, sales, and distribution) to solve a core business problem through analytics and modelling.
Engage with UK&I Digital teams and key business contacts, presenting insights and recommendations.
Collect, analyze, and model business data, likely using Azure Data Platform and AI/ML services.
Work both on-site and remotely, with a balance of team collaboration and independent tasks.Internship Details

Duration: 12 weeks, starting June 2025

Hours: 35 hours per week (3 days on-site, 2 days remote)

Locations: Possible work at any of our three UK digital offices:

East Leake, Loughborough
Elland, West Yorkshire
Tadley, Hampshire
Ruddington🚗 A clean driving license is desirable for potential travel to other UK Saint-Gobain locations.

What We're Looking For

Currently in your 2nd year university in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, or an equivalent field.
Programming experience with Python and SQL (ideally via an analytics type project)
Knowledge of the Python data & AI stack (e.g., pandas, numpy, scikit-learn).
Understanding of constrained optimization problems and how to apply them to data.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a critical thinking mindset.
Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical audiences.
