The shift pattern for this position is 08:30 -16:30pm
The post holder will facilitate access to oral health promotion, dental preventive and treatment services through all Oral Health Improvement Programmes. Duties will include:

Support the delivery of Childsmile programmes e.g. Toothbrushing and Fluoride Varnish within nurseries and schools. After training may provide support to vulnerable families in their own homes. Provide support to a wider range of establishments including nursing homes, prisons, homeless units, community and primary care dental service settings. Minimum Requirements SVQ 3 in Health Care, or working towards, or equivalent experience working with a caring environment/ role The ability to work as part of a multi-disciplinary/ agency team Effective written and verbal communication Good organisational skills and an ability to carry out assigned client care and tasks effectively within a busy environment

It would be desirable if the successful candidate held a Childsmile certificate.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
