Job Title:Data Scientist

Salary:up to £60k

Location:Edinburgh (UK Remote)

Our client is a dynamic and innovative company specialising in retention and acquisition services through free-to-play games. Their mission is to drive traffic and repeated visits to their clients' websites by rewarding the right users. They provide free-to-play games for leading companies in the gaming industry, such as Fanduel, Livescore, and Bet365.


The Role

As the data team grows, we are now looking for an ambitious Data Scientist to join and play a crucial role in the team. Your primary responsibility will be to analyse gaming data, develop predictive models, and implement advanced analytics techniques to enhance user retention and engagement while making our games more efficient and cost-effective. The Data Scientists are client facing so need to be comfortable presenting to and communicating with clients.


Responsibilities:

  • Analyse gaming data to identify trends, patterns, and insights.
  • Develop and implement segmentation strategies and clustering techniques.
  • Create and maintain dashboards using cloud-based visualization tools to provide real-time insights to key stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with the product team to optimize game design and perform cost-benefit analysis.
  • Utilize probabilities, statistical modelling, and machine learning techniques to predict game costs and user behaviour
  • Work with the data engineering team using tools like PostgreSQL and various cloud-based services.


Requirements:

  • 3+ years’ experience as a Data Scientist with a solid understanding of machine learning algorithms, particularly clustering techniques and segmentation methodologies.
  • Strong mathematical and statistical skills, particularly in probability, modelling, and hypothesis testing.
  • Adept in data visualization tools to create insightful dashboards.
  • Proficiency in version control systems for code management.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex insights to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Python and Pandas, PySpark, SQL, AWS
