About The Role 9 Months Fixed Term Contract The DataScience role is responsible for using Data Science and modellingtechniques to address critical questions for both the business andour customers. This includes understanding the challenges ourcustomers face with regards to electric vehicle (EV) adoption,understanding how rising costs will impact customers’ affordabilitythresholds and identifying key data points that indicate potentialmisuse of the Scheme. These are some of the primary issues thatthis role will help resolve. The role sits within the Data Scienceand Analytics team and will be primarily focused on using data toidentify potential misuse of the Motability Scheme. The postholderwill collaborate with key stakeholders within the business tounderstand and agree requirements for data can be used to help thebusiness make decisions on tackling this key issue. On a day-to-daybasis, the postholder will be tasked with using their technicalskills to help the team deliver key pieces of analyses relating tounderstanding and predicting customer behaviour. They will alsowork on turning these analyses into actionable insights which thebusiness can use. Main Responsibilities - Building Machine Learningmodels that provide insight into customers and helps the businesspredict customer behaviour around scheme misuse, EV transition andaffordability. These models are essential as the business undergoestransformation to become data driven and make evidence-baseddecisions. - Provide insight into customer behaviour, choices andpreferences using statistical methods such as regression andhypothesis testing to analyse data from our customer database. -Building dashboards that is able to tell a story and provide thebusiness with key insights on customer behaviour. - Analysecustomer research data to gain insights on customer behaviour usingNatural Language Processing (NLP) techniques such as sentimentanalysis and topic modelling. - Provide education to both internaland external stakeholders about the modelling process, includingthe assumptions and methodology used. This will ensure that theyfully understand and support the process. - Supporting the team inmeeting ad hoc requests for customer insights from the rest of thebusiness. About You The ideal person will have: - Strong experiencein building Machine Learning models and applying Data Sciencetechniques using python. - Strong data manipulation and statisticalanalysis experience gained through experience working in variousindustries. - Be able to provide clear and tangible examples oftime when your insights and analysis have made an impact on abusiness. - Strong programming skills in python and SQL and afamiliarity with working with cloud platforms such as Snowflake andSagemaker. - Ability to communicate with both technical andnon-technical audience and strong stakeholder managementexperience. Minimum criteria You’ll need all of these: - Educatedto a degree standard, ideally in applied statistics/DataScience/Mathematics. - Strong experience using machine learning tosolve business problems involving both structured and unstructureddata. - Experience of working with cloud-based data stores such asSnowflake and strong experience querying data with SQL. -Demonstrable analytical problem-solving capabilities. You will also workclosely with experts within Insurance, repairs, commercialoperations and customer services to understand the business needsand our customers. The role will involve day-to-day communicationwith key stakeholders to ensure that insights are communicated andimplemented through the business.
