JobDescription:

• VirginiaState Police (VSP) is looking for a Senior Data Scientist with6years of experience performing complex data analysis and creatingmanagement and statistical reports for the Criminal and Rap BackInformation System (CRIS) project.
• Theincumbent will perform complex data research and analysis for CRISand creates data to support system testing including interfacetesting. The incumbent will serve as the Team Leader for two teamsa test data team and a Microsoft Power BI reports team. Theincumbent will collaborate with CRIS suppliers interface partnersthe VSP Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) andInformation Technology (IT) Divisions to extract scrub prepositionand utilize test data in coordination with test plans andactivities. The incumbent will coordinate test data management withthe VSP Information Security Officer (ISO). The incumbent willresearch and document report requirements and develop Power BIreports.
• These duties involve the following:Assists with the development of test plans and test cases; analysisof each test case and applicable test data requirements andsources; leads all aspects of test data management in the CRIS andinterface partner test environments; develops and maintains aninventory of CRIS reports; collaborates with stakeholders to refinethe purpose of each report and look and feel preferences.Candidates for this position are required to have extensiveexperience developing Power BI reports and experience developingsystem test plans. Also candidates for this position should possessstrong leadership skills strong organization administrativeanalytical problem solving and interpersonal skills; beselfmotivated and able to develop rapport and positive workingrelationships with coworkers and the agency at large; have priorexperience implementing cloudhosted Software As A Service (SaaS)solutions; be able to manage security access and user profilemanagement; be able to work collaboratively with various groupswithin VSP and VSP vendors to ensure requirements are vetted anddocumented; be able to analyze functional/nonfunctional systemrequirements; possess excellent communication skills in English andthe ability to communicate with internal customers in nontechnicalterms; be proficient with Microsoft Products (Word Excel VisioPowerPoint). Candidates should highlight any experience working oncriminal justice projects. The incumbent must work fulltime onsiteat VSP headquarters North Chesterfield.
