For the Ministry of Defence (MOD), maintaining national security is a 24-hour-a-day, 365-day-a-year mission. For this reason, it partners with this Big 4 Firm to support its multidisciplinary Data Science and Machine Learning team within DSSV (Data Science, Simulation and Visualisation).

The Teams work together to drive innovation and insight from data, using cutting-edge Data Science and Machine Learning techniques alongside Digital Transformation to solve complex problems through AI and Data.

Working closely with senior data scientists, the Consultant's responsibilities span the entire data science lifecycle, from Proof of Concept to fully tested production solutions. Additional duties include preparing technical documentation, participating in client proposal responses, and pitching data science projects.

British Passport Holder with active DV (Developed Vetting Clearance) Hands-on experience applying data science/machine learning in Defence/Security, public sector, or academia. Understanding various machine learning models: Transformers, CNNs, regression, vector embeddings. Ability to communicate complex technical issues effectively to diverse audiences. Client relationship management skills. Contribute to practice development, including research and developing new propositions. Proficiency in Data Science and Machine Learning services from Cloud providers (AWS, Azure, GCP). Python and Jupyter ecosystem (Lab, Notebook) and related libraries and tooling. Python libraries for data management, statistical analysis, machine learning, and visualisation. Machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch. Knowledge of Natural Language Processing and Computer Vision applications. Strong understanding of basic probability concepts. In-depth knowledge of the machine learning lifecycle and collaboration facilitation. Workflow/pipelining frameworks (Kubeflow, MLFlow, Argo or equivalents). Understanding and application of key considerations for Ethical AI. £45,000 - £75,000 (DoE) Circa 10% per annum Circa £5,000 per annum £5000 Private Medical Insurance 25 Days plus Public Holidays + buy up to 10 additional days Annual Performance/Salary Reviews + Training & Development Budget 6% Matched Pension + Group Personal Pension Plan Up to a maximum of four times the Earnings Cap
