Data Insights Specialist - FX | Investment Bank (Advanced Analytics)

I am working with one of our leading investment banking clients, who are looking to add to their FX business in London with a Data Insights Specialist who will be working closely with the execution desk, quants and technology teams to derive valuable insights from the data available and build tools across the FX business.This hands-on role requires expertise in data analysis, Python programming, and familiarity with KDB, along with strong experience in data science.FX markets experience would also be great to have but other asset classes will be fine.


Responsibilities:

  • Conduct client trading analysis and desk performance analysis to identify opportunities for improvement and optimization.
  • Develop real-time tools to provide actionable insights to traders, enabling informed decision-making and enhancing trading efficiency.
  • Use advanced analytics and modelling to improve decision making across the FX business (such as optimization of calls or client ranking etc).
  • Generate in-depth client reports for sales teams, leveraging data insights to drive client conversations and enhance client relationships.
  • Extract, clean, categorize, and analyze FX trading data to derive actionable insights and inform trading strategies.
  • Build tools and applications using Python and KDB within the existing data science platform infrastructure to support quants and traders in their day-to-day activities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across the FX business (quants & traders) to understand their data needs and develop innovative solutions to address them.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and best practices in data analysis and FX markets to ensure the firm remains at the forefront of data-driven decision-making.


Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related discipline; advanced degree preferred but not necessary.
  • Extensive experience in data analysis and programming, with proficiency in Python and ideally Q/KDB for analyzing large datasets.
  • Some understanding of FX markets (open to other asset class experience) and exposure to sales and trading teams.
  • Strong advanced analytics, modelling and ML experience.
  • Experience with building tools and applications for data analysis and visualization, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Experience with non-trivial models/modelling.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
  • Proven track record of delivering actionable insights and driving innovation in data-driven decision-making processes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.


Please ensure you have strong experience with Python and some exposure/experience with KDB for this role.
