Data Consultant

Location: London 3 days a week on site

Salary 30-40k (might be able to go a little higher)

Overview:

We are seeking a Data Consultant to serve as a liaison between various data teams and business stakeholders. This is a strategic, non-hands-on role where the consultant will collaborate with teams such as Data Governance, Analytics, Business Intelligence, Data Engineering, Data Operations, and Data Product to streamline processes and ensure alignment. The consultant will play a pivotal role in facilitating communication and delivering data-driven business outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Act as the bridge between data teams (e.g., Data Governance, BI, Data Engineering) and business stakeholders, ensuring cohesive communication and collaboration.
• Facilitate discussions and negotiations between technical and non-technical teams, translating complex technical concepts into understandable business language.
• Business Requirements Documentation**: Develop and maintain business requirements, user stories, and process maps to streamline data-related initiatives and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Collaborate with project managers to oversee data-related projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business goals.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align data strategy with business objectives, ensuring all teams are working toward a unified goal.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to improve processes, data governance, and data quality across various platforms and teams.
• Produce regular reports, presentations, and documentation to communicate project progress, data insights, and technical issues to stakeholders at all levels.
• Stay updated on the latest trends in data technology, governance, and cloud platforms, advising the team on best practices and innovations.

Essential Requirements:

• Technical Acumen Proficiency in relevant data technologies and platforms such as MicroStrategy, Tableau, Talend (ETL), Data Movement, Data Warehousing, Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP), and Data Governance and Quality tools.
• 2+ years of demonstrated experience in a data-related field such as Data Governance, Analytics, BI, Data Engineering, Data Operations, or Data Product teams.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in a data-related field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent certifications or qualifications in Data & Information Technology.
• knowledge of SQL and proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Visio, PowerPoint, and Excel.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, with meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to produce reports, documentation, and effectively communicate technical issues to non-technical stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple projects, and work under pressure.
