The shift pattern for this position is 5/7, Monday – Friday 8.30am – 4.30pm. Potential weekend working depending on service demand. 

An opportunity has arisen for a Rehabilitation Support worker to join the North East Rehabilitation Service. The multidisciplinary team provides physical rehabilitation for people within their own homes with the aim of maximising independence and preventing admission to hospital and long term care.

This is an opportunity to work with a wide range of professionals (including Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Dietitian, Speech and Language therapist, Nurses) dealing with adults with a wide range of conditions and complexities. Your workload would be allocated by these professionals with the expectation that you will carry these tasks out independently within the patient’s own home. There will be an expectation that you will be involved in:

multi-disciplinary discussions documenting in patient’s notes take calls and perform administrative duties as required.

Previous experience in the health or social care environment would be advantageous.

NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment therefore reflects the new working hours. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
