They deliver and manage advanced AI and analytics solutions across various sectors, including financial services, government, life sciences, and the private sector.

With a strong presence across Europe and a hybrid working model, our client is focused on significant growth over the next three years, including plans to expand into the US market.

The Opportunity: Our client is seeking a skilled Cloud Architect with a particular focus on Azure to join their dynamic team.

In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain scalable cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and availability of cloud-based systems.

This position involves working closely with clients to support their cloud environments and ensure their systems meet business and technical requirements.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud technologies, a deep understanding of cloud infrastructure, and a passion for staying current with the latest developments in cloud computing.

Key Responsibilities: Design, size, cost, deploy, and maintain cloud infrastructure solutions that meet specific customer requirements.

Collaborate with development and data science teams to provide cloud architecture guidance, ensuring systems are scalable, reliable, and secure.

Implement and manage various cloud services, including computing, storage, networking, and databases.

Monitor and optimise cloud infrastructure performance, addressing issues related to scalability, availability, and efficiency.

Ensure robust data integrity and security by implementing access controls, encryption, and backup solutions.

Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration, and deployment using infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools.

Conduct regular security assessments and implement measures to safeguard cloud-based systems and data.

Work closely with the internal team and clients to troubleshoot and resolve infrastructure-related issues.

Stay informed about industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending new tools and practices for adoption.

Optimise data storage and retrieval processes to enhance the performance of large-scale datasets.

Assist in data governance and compliance initiatives, including data privacy and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications and Experience: A Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.

Proven experience in a Cloud Architect or similar role, with a focus on public cloud platforms such as Azure.

Deep understanding of cloud architecture, including virtualisation, containers, microservices, and serverless computing.

Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools like Terraform, Bicep, CloudFormation, or Azure Resource Manager.

Experience with automation and configuration management tools such as Ansible, Puppet, or Chef is advantageous.

Solid understanding of networking principles, including TCP/IP, DNS, load balancing, and firewall configurations.

Knowledge of cloud security best practices, including IAM, encryption, and vulnerability management.

Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools such as Azure Monitor or equivalent platforms.

Experience with DevOps methodologies and CI/CD pipelines is a plus.

Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex issues in a cloud environment.

Excellent communication and collaboration skills, essential for working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.

Desirable Skills: Experience in data science and analytics, including machine learning, data processing, and visualisation.

Proficiency in programming languages like Python or R, commonly used in data science.

Experience with data engineering techniques, including data pipelines and ETL processes.

Relevant cloud certifications, such as Azure Certified Cloud Engineer or AWS Certified Solutions Architect, are highly desirable.

Personal Attributes: High level of personal integrity and strong stakeholder management skills.

Experience in project management, agile methodologies, automation, and solutions architecture.

Ability to manage time effectively and communicate clearly, both internally and with clients.

Additional Experience (Desirable): Applying data science and analytics techniques to enhance data-driven decision-making processes within cloud environments.

Developing and deploying machine learning models and data pipelines in the cloud.

Collaborating with data scientists and analysts to provide infrastructure support for data exploration, modelling, and visualisation.

Integrating cloud-based analytics tools for data processing, transformation, and analysis.

Familiarity with tools such as SAS, Watsonx, Anaconda, or POSIT is advantageous.
