Job overview

We have an opportunity for a Clinical Lead in our Mental Health and Wellness teams in the Community Mental Health Transformation.

Calibre must:

Have continuous experience of supervising staff and delegate work 
appropriately. Deliver a range of evidence-based interventions which will promote recovery, social inclusion and normalisation for this group of service users, who suffer from severe, enduring mental health problems. Work in partnership with the MDT, Home Treatment Team, Acute Inpatients Services, Local Authority and other third sector organisations to provide support and treatment to service users within crisis to facilitate the safe management of their needs within a community setting. Be a Qualified Mental Health Nurses with a live unrestricted UK NMC registration, strong team player with at least three years post qualifying experience in a mental health setting.

The post holder will deputise for the team manager and be able to autonomously oversee clinical systems and staff. It is essential that applicants have excellent organisational skills and are competent with using computer programmes and databases.

Our current focus is now on placed based care - moving to locality teams around the Primary Care Networks.

Main duties of the job

Undertaking assessment of complex case, including risk assessments . Undertaking complex evidence based interventions that manage high risk. Ability to demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills working with service users and staff within a demanding multi-disciplinary environment. Ability to provide clinical supervision and undertake appraisal and performance reviews with staff. Able to deputise for the team manager and work autonomously when appropriate. Managing a small caseload

The Waltham Forest Adult Mental Health Teams have evolved into the Mental Health and Wellness Teams in the Community Mental health Transformation. The focus is very much on a team approach with ensuring co production with service users.

Starting with NELFT
NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. The induction will be held at our head office in Rainham, Essex.

COVID-19 Vaccination

Probationary Period
This post will be subject to a probationary period. Internal applicants are exempt from the probationary period (unless you are an internal applicant currently part way through a probationary period or currently a bank member of staff).

High Cost Area Supplement – Outer London
This post also attracts payment for High Cost Area Supplement of 15% of the basic salary (minimum payment of £4,313 and a maximum payment of £5,436 per annum pro rata).

Assist the Team Manager in the delivery of recovery orientated interventions and evidence based practice by working with a caseload and supervising staff. Oversee clinical systems within the team. Attend meetings and forums as required by the team manager. Work with other seniors on a rota basis to oversee new and urgent referrals to the team.

Essential criteria

Live NMC registration or Social Work England registration without any restrictions MELPS (Mentoring and enabling in a clinical setting), ENB 998 or Teaching in Clinical Settings or equivalent qualification Evidence of recent CPD RMN educated to at least HND/P2000/Degree level or Qualified Social Worker with a master's degree in social work NVQ level 2 or equivalent standard of literacy and numeracy Experienced Open Dialogue practitioner
