The Opportunity:
The Financial Times #1 UK Defence Company seeks an influential Chief Engineer to lead Electronic Warfare R&D initiatives.
The Role:
As a hands-on ML Engineering Authority, you'll be at the forefront of steering complex radar/sonar system projects while nurturing up-and-coming Data Science/ML engineers in a dynamic, fast-paced setting. Additionally, you'll be crucial in managing technical aspects of multimillion-pound bids and driving business development efforts.
Required Skills/Experience:
- British Born and Sole British Passport Holder
- Strong technical leadership and management skills in significant engineering capacities.
- Leading the development of Electronic Warfare Solutions covering various domains.
- Exceptional commercial acumen managing multimillion-pound bids and business development.
- In-depth knowledge of radar principles (Doppler, pulse, continuous wave, synthetic aperture), radar signal processing, and algorithms.
- An extensive network spanning academia, defence, suppliers, and commercial sectors.
- Ability to influence MoD perspectives and translate customer needs into solutions.
- Profound understanding of mathematical modelling and practical design limitations.
- Proficiency in C/C++, Python, VHDL/Verilog for FPGA programming, radar simulation tools (e.g. MATLAB, Simulink), and real-time embedded systems.
- Proficiency in designing and validating concepts throughout the development lifecycle.
Benefits Package:
- Base Salary: £95,000 - £105,000
- Pension: 5% (6% Company Contribution)
