Role Overview:


Morgan Philips Specialist Recruitment is representing a leading professional services firm in their search for an Assistant General Counsel to join their In-House Legal Team. The candidate should be an experienced commercial lawyer with a focus on technology, data privacy, data protection, and AI. The role involves providing practical, business-focused legal advice globally.


Key Responsibilities:



  • Support legal and regulatory matters for a global professional services organization.
  • Advise on technology, data privacy, data protection, AI, and related issues; support daily commercial and regulatory legal matters.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations across jurisdictions and network policies.
  • Support Technology and Risk Management teams with legal advice.
  • Develop and implement governance and operational policies, procedures, and playbooks.
  • Review and advise on new services and solutions, focusing on legal and regulatory issues.
  • Manage external legal counsel across jurisdictions efficiently and cost-effectively.
  • Balance practical advice with risk management and compliance obligations.
  • Present on legal topics and author articles.
  • Mentor junior team members.


Candidate Profile:



  • UK-qualified lawyer or equivalent with significant experience at a major law firm or in-house role.
  • Strong legal skills with experience in complex legal and regulatory issues.
  • Strategic risk management skills, with ability to identify issues and suggest mitigation.
  • Negotiation, drafting, and review of commercial agreements; advising across jurisdictions.
  • Ability to work independently and in teams, managing complex files.
  • Capable of balancing legal risk with business needs in a fast-growing environment.
  • Self-motivated, excellent communicator, organized, and able to work with global stakeholders.
