The project aims toprovide an affordable solution to benefit smaller farmers andlandowners in identifying disease infestations and taking proactiveintervention measures to protect the economic and ecological valueof Ash trees. The position will specifically contribute throughsurveying woodlands to validate drone survey data, and to processand analyse the drone survey data. We are seeking an AI Developerto join our innovative team. Your role will focus on utilizingmachine learning and deep learning technologies to advance ourplatform, which integrates UAV and satellite remote sensing datafor environmental monitoring. You will play a vital role indeveloping systems that integrate remote sensing data for treedisease detection and vegetation monitoring, contributing to bothpost-processing and real-time image analysis. In this role, youwill play a key part in the development of predictive models fortree disease detection and monitoring based on UAV and satelliteremote sensing data. The working hours of this position are 9am-5pmMonday to Friday (35 hours a week).Responsibilities:1.Develop and implement machine learning and deep learning models toenhance predictive analytics for tree disease detection. 2. Exploredeployment of models using Google’s Earth Engine and Vertex AI. 3.Experiment with Generative AI to improve accuracy in analyticalmodels. 4. Analyze visual, multispectral, and LiDAR imagery toassess vegetation health and identify hazards near infrastructure.5. Utilize UAV remote sensing data to extract relevant features andinformation for disease prediction. 6. Collaborate with GIS andML/DL experts to integrate geographical and spatial data into thepredictive models. 7. Document code, methodologies, and findingsfor knowledge sharing and reproducibility.Qualifications:1.Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Data Science,Environmental Science, Geospatial Sciences, or a related field.Ph.D. is a plus. 2. Proven experience in machine learning and deeplearning, with a focus on computer vision and image segmentation.3. Proficiency in programming languages such as Python andfamiliarity with relevant libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch,scikit-learn) 4. Strong technical ability to manage and analyzesatellite and UAV imagery. 5. Knowledge of remote sensingtechniques and data sources, especially UAV and satellite imagery.6. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. 7. Strongcommunication and teamwork abilities. 8. Self-driven with a passionfor staying at the forefront of technology advancements. DesiredSkills: 1. Experience with Google’s Vertex AI environment 2.Experience with Google’s Earth Engine.
