AI Engineer (Machine Learning LLM Python) Newcastle to £200k

Are you an AI Engineer with a first-class education looking for an opportunity to progress your career, working on complex and interesting AI systems in an impactful role?

You could be joining a FinTech start-up, the company has secure backing and an established Hedge Fund client as a partner.

As an AI Engineer, you will join a new team responsible for evaluating and introducing AI and LLM Machine Learning functionality into the company's proprietary trading systems. There's lots of Greenfield development projects to get stuck into and you'll have an impactful role in improving systems and processes, collaborating with a hugely talented team, with continual learning and self-development opportunities.

Location:

You'll join colleagues in brand new Central Newcastle offices on a full-time basis (Monday to Friday), working hours 0900-1800 with some flexibility. The offices are well equipped and offer fantastic views across the City and the local countryside, many employees walk or cycle in (onsite showers available!).

About you:

  • You have achieved a minimum 2.1 BSc in Computer Science or similar technical discipline from a Russell Group university, backed by A's at A-level.
  • You're a technologist who enjoys collaborating and problem-solving, working on complex, distributed systems.
  • You have Python coding skills combined with at least one other OO programming language, e.g. C#, Java, C++.
  • You have experience of working with Artificial Intelligence and are excited about the possibilities of AI in real-world settings.
  • You have a data-centric mindset with a good knowledge of LLMs (Large Language Models) and NLP (Natural Language Processing).
  • You have a strong knowledge of modern software engineering best practices and have experience across the full software development lifecycle.
  • You have a thorough understanding of Computer Science fundamentals such as OOP, Data Structures, Design Patterns, Algorithms.
  • You're excited to join a start-up in a role that you can shape and influence.
