AI Data Scientist – Python Specialist (Contract) Location: Cambridge (Hybrid – 1 day/week onsite)
 Duration: 6 months
Day Rate: £400–£550/day (Outside IR35)
Start Date: End of August
A leading Cambridge-based biotech company is urgently seeking an AI Data Scientist with strong Python skills to support the development of machine learning models for biomedical data analysis. You’ll be joining a small, agile team working on projects ranging from genomic data interpretation to clinical trial optimization.
 Key Responsibilities:Build and deploy ML models using Pythonscikit-learn, and PyTorchWork with structured and unstructured biomedical datasets (. genomic sequences, patient records, imaging)Collaborate with bioinformaticians and clinical researchers to translate data into actionable insightsContribute to the development of internal tools for data preprocessingfeature engineering, and model evaluation Requirements:3+ years of experience in data science or ML, ideally in biotech or healthcareStrong Python programming skills and experience with ML librariesFamiliarity with JupyterPandasNumPy, and MLFlowExperience working with clinical or biological datasets is a big plusComfortable working in a fast-paced, research-driven environment Bonus Skills:Knowledge of genomicsbioinformatics, or clinical trialsExperience with DockerKubernetes, or cloud ML pipelines (AWS/GCP)This is a high-impact role with immediate visibility across R&D and data teams.
