An opportunity has arisen with a forward-thinking consultancy that operates as an AI-first delivery team, helping clients rapidly move from idea to scalable, production-ready solutions. This is a high-impact, fast-paced environment where innovation, speed, and quality are equally valued.

The role is for a Technical Manager who will act as the senior technical anchor across multiple client engagements — moving between solution architecture, hands-on problem solving, and senior client advisory.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Leading solution architecture across a portfolio of client engagements
  • Acting as the senior technical voice in client conversations, advising on feasibility, trade-offs, and risk
  • Driving engineering standards and best practices, ensuring speed doesn’t compromise quality
  • Shaping and delivering AI-first solutions, embedding modern tooling into real-world use cases
  • Supporting and mentoring engineers, helping raise the overall technical capability of the team
  • Collaborating with wider teams to scale prototypes into robust, long-term solutions
What We’re Looking For
  • Strong background in engineering, architecture, or technical leadership
  • Experience operating in client-facing or consulting environments
  • Proven ability to design and deliver end-to-end solutions across multiple technologies
  • Comfortable working across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and modern architectures
  • Practical experience with AI tools and emerging technologies, with a clear understanding of where they add value
  • A natural communicator, able to engage both technical teams and senior stakeholders
  • Someone who thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and enjoys variety in their role
Why This Role?
  • Work in a genuinely AI-first environment where modern tooling is embedded into delivery
  • High level of autonomy and influence over technical direction and standards
  • Exposure to a wide range of industries and complex challenges
  • A role that blends strategy, architecture, and hands-on delivery
  • Opportunity to shape how a growing team delivers and scales

It has gone from a niche term known mainly to Palantir alumni to arguably the hottest role in the entire AI hiring market. So what exactly is an AI forward deployed engineer, why has demand surged so dramatically, and how do you position yourself to land one of these roles? This guide breaks it all down for AI engineers, software engineers and data scientists looking at their next move.
