This is a hybrid working model where the expectation is to come in 2-3 times per week to the Stockton office

Why join?

  • This is your chance to join a local innovative technology company undergoing exciting modernisation and cloud transformation. You’ll work on impactful products used by thousands of customers and contribute directly to new features, system improvements, and platform migration initiatives.
  • You'll benefit from a talented supportive team that values innovation and autonomy who you can in turn learn from and leverage your own skills.
  • They're a flexible employer so whether it's perhaps the school run, a regular exercise class or other commitments - they'll work together with you to make it work.
  • The team is still growing and there are plans to add headcount further into 2026 as part of the wider growth strategy

Why this role is different

This isn’t a “business as usual” engineering role. You’ll be working in an environment where:

  • Their engineers don’t just write code, they build scalable platforms powered by Azure cloud technologies, modern CI/CD pipelines, and AI tooling embedded across the entire development lifecycle.
  • AI is part of how you build, not an afterthought - from prototyping and refactoring to testing and optimisation.
  • You’ll design and develop cloud-native systems that process real-world data at scale
  • You’ll help drive the transition from legacy systems to modern, high-performance architectures
  • Your work goes live, gets used, and makes a tangible impact on customers and the business

What you’ll be doing as a Software Engineer...

  • Building and evolving scalable full-stack applications using modern technologies
  • Developing cloud-first solutions on Azure, leveraging services and distributed architecture
  • Using AI coding assistants (e.g. Copilot/Claude) responsibly across the SDLC to accelerate delivery
  • Contributing to clean, maintainable, secure codebases through strong engineering practices
  • Collaborating across teams to design, deliver, and continuously improve products
  • Helping modernise systems and drive best practice in a fast-evolving tech environment

Tech you’ll work with

  • .NET, C#, Web APIs, Entity Framework, SQL Server / JavaScript / TypeScript
  • Azure & CI/CD (Azure DevOps), Event Hubs, Service Bus, Redis, SignalR, Docker
  • AI-augmented engineering and modern development workflows.

Working benefits

  • Salary up to £48,000
  • Annual pay reviews / increases
  • 27 days Holidays plus Bank Holidays
  • Discounts on some utility bills
  • Flexible working hours
  • Health plan
  • Free parking
  • Above industry standard sick pay cover

Interview process / Application process

  • You must be eligible to work in the UK, sponsorship is not offered.
  • 2 stage interview, 1 initial 30 min teams call with the Lead Developer and if successful followed by a face to face where you’ll meet the CTO and Head of Talent in the office for around 1.5 hours.

Where to Advertise AI Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise AI jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards and communities that reach AI engineers, ML scientists and applied research talent in the UK. The candidate pool is small, highly informed and in demand across multiple sectors simultaneously. General job boards reach a broad audience but lack the specificity that AI professionals expect — and the filtering mechanisms they rely on. Specialist platforms, direct outreach and academic channels each serve a different part of the market. This guide, published by ArtificialIntelligenceJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise AI roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about time-to-hire across different role types.
