Salary: up to £50,000

We’re looking for a talentedSoftware Developer to join a growing development team and help build, enhance and support modern, cloud-based software solutions.

This is a great opportunity for a developer with solid commercial experience who enjoys solving real-world problems, working with Microsoft technologies and getting involved across the full software development lifecycle.

You’ll also be joining a team that is embracingAI-assisted development, so we’re particularly interested in developers who are already using tools such asClaude, GitHub Copilot or similar and are keen to explore how AI can make development more efficient and effective.

The Role

Working as part of a collaborative Agile team, you’ll be involved in designing, developing, testing and supporting software applications.

You’ll have the opportunity to work across a broad range of development activities while continuing to build your technical skills and contribute ideas for improving both applications and development processes.

What you'll be doing
  • Developing, testing and maintaining high-quality software applications
  • Writing clean, secure, maintainable and well-documented code
  • Working with colleagues and stakeholders to understand requirements and deliver effective solutions
  • Building and supporting applications usingMicrosoft technologies and Azure
  • Developing and optimisingSQL Server databases, queries and stored procedures
  • Working as part of an Agile development team
  • Troubleshooting application defects and performance issues
  • Participating in code reviews and contributing to development best practices
  • Identifying opportunities to improve applications, processes and user experience
  • Keeping up to date with emerging technologies, particularly across the Microsoft and AI ecosystems
What we're looking for

You'll need solid commercial experience with:

  • C# and .NET
  • Microsoft Azure and cloud-based development
  • Microsoft SQL Server and T-SQL
  • HTML, CSS and JavaScript
  • A modern JavaScript framework such asReact or Angular
  • The software development lifecycle, including development, testing and deployment
  • Secure software development principles
  • Agile development environments

You'll also need good problem-solving and analytical skills, together with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.

AI-assisted development

AI is becoming an increasingly important part of modern software development, and we're looking for developers who are interested in embracing that change.

Ideally, you'll already have some practical experience using tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot or similar for activities including:

  • Coding
  • Testing and debugging
  • Documentation
  • Research and problem solving

Just as importantly, you'll understand that AI-generated code needs to be reviewed, tested and validated rather than simply accepted at face value.

You don't need to be an AI expert. We're looking for someone who is curious, willing to experiment and keen to develop their understanding of how AI can improve the development process.

Desirable experience

Experience with any of the following would be useful:

  • Azure Functions, App Services or Logic Apps
  • DevOps and CI/CD pipelines
  • REST APIs and integrations
  • Azure AI, OpenAI or Copilot technologies
  • Machine learning
  • IoT platforms or data-driven applications
What you'll bring

We're looking for someone who:

  • Is genuinely interested in technology and continuous learning
  • Takes ownership of their work
  • Enjoys solving problems and finding better ways of doing things
  • Works well with both technical and non-technical colleagues
  • Takes pride in producing quality software
  • Has good attention to detail
  • Is curious about new technologies, particularly AI
  • Brings a positive, collaborative approach to the team
What's on offer?
  • Salary up to £50,000
  • Permanent, full-time position
  • Hybrid working – 2 days per week in Stockport
  • The opportunity to work with modernMicrosoft and Azure technologies
  • Exposure to AI-assisted software development
  • A collaborative and supportive development environment
  • A variety of projects and technologies to work with
  • Opportunities for continued learning and professional development
  • The chance to make a genuine contribution within a growing technology team

If you're an experiencedC#/.NET developer with Azure and SQL Server experience, and you're keen to develop your skills while embracing the opportunities presented by AI, we'd love to hear from you.

What Is an AI Forward Deployed Engineer? The Fastest-Growing Job in AI for 2026

If you have been watching AI job boards over the past year, one title keeps surfacing again and again: the forward deployed engineer, or FDE. It has gone from a niche term known mainly to Palantir alumni to arguably the hottest role in the entire AI hiring market. Job postings for forward deployed engineers have exploded, salaries have climbed past levels most software engineers will ever see, and the biggest names in AI — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Salesforce, Databricks and Palantir — are all competing for the same small pool of talent. So what exactly is an AI forward deployed engineer, why has demand surged so dramatically, and how do you position yourself to land one of these roles? This guide breaks it all down for AI engineers, software engineers and data scientists looking at their next move.
