About the Role:

CBRE is seeking a skilled Shift Team Leader - Central Utilities / Boiler House to lead the safe and reliable operation of critical utilities on a large, high‑profile site in Stevenage.This is a key operational leadership role, responsible for supervising a shift‑based utilities team and ensuring continuous delivery of essential services within a highly regulated environment.

What You'll Do:

Lead and supervise shift operations for Central Utilities and Boiler House systems

Ensure safe, compliant operation of plant including boilers, steam systems, CHP, chilled water, compressed air and associated utilities

Monitor BMS/SCADA systems and respond to alarms and incidents

Act as the senior technical and safety authority on shift

Control Permit to Work, isolations and safe systems of work

Coordinate planned and reactive maintenance activities

Carry out effective shift handovers and reporting

Support audits, inspections and continuous improvement initiatives

What You'll Need:

Engineering or utilities qualification (NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent)

BOAS or equivalent (preferred)

IOSH Managing Safely (or willingness to obtain)

Proven experience in a boiler house or central utilities environment

Previous shift leadership or supervisory experience

Strong knowledge of steam and pressure systems

Comfortable working in a regulated, critical environment

Safety‑focused with strong communication and decision‑making skills
