Embroidery Production Operative

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Embroidery Production Operative to join an amazing team in Horsham. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for detail, expertise in colour matching, and the ability to manage multiple projects efficiently.

Day-to-day duties of the role:

  • Machine Setup: Load designs, select appropriate thread colors, and prepare needles, bobbins, and backings.
  • Material Preparation: Accurately hoop, frame, and stabilise garments such as shirts, hats, and jackets to prevent shifting during the sewing process.
  • Quality Control: Monitor machines during operation to detect thread breaks, tension issues, or design flaws. Inspect finished products to ensure they meet studio standards.
  • Machine Maintenance: Perform routine cleaning, oiling, and part replacements to keep equipment in top working order.
  • Inventory Management: Track and reorder threads, backing materials, and blank apparel to ensure production stays on schedule.
  • Time Management: Balance multiple projects simultaneously to ensure orders are completed on time and to exact specifications.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience: 1–3 years of experience working with multi-head embroidery machine (e.g., Tajima, Melco, SWF) is highly preferred.
  • Technical Skills: Basic computer skills and the ability to read digital work orders and digitising software.
  • Physical Requirements: Comfortable standing for long periods, excellent colour vision, and the ability to lift boxes and materials.
