About the role

We are looking for a Partner AI Deployment Engineer (ADE) to own OpenAI’s senior technical engagement with McKinsey, BCG, and Bain globally. This role is the primary technical point of contact for MBB advisory partners on complex enterprise proposals and transformation programmes, ensuring that OpenAI’s platform is positioned, architected, and deployed to support board-level AI agendas.

The role sits at the intersection of strategy, architecture, and execution. You will work directly with MBB partners and principals to translate executive ambition into scalable, production-ready AI programmes built on the OpenAI platform. You will operate across multiple industries and engagements, shaping solution direction, guiding architectural decisions, and orchestrating delivery across OpenAI and partner teams.

This role is based in Munich or Dublin. We use a hybrid work model of 3 days in the office per week and offer relocation assistance to new employees.

In this role, you will:

Act as the senior technical lead for McKinsey, BCG, and Bain across priority enterprise pursuits and transformation programmes.

  • Serve as the primary technical counterpart to MBB Partners and Principals during proposal development and client engagements.

  • Translate board-level AI strategies into executable technical architectures, delivery plans, and platform roadmaps.

  • Provide architectural leadership across multiple concurrent programmes, ensuring consistency, quality, and alignment with OpenAI standards.

  • Orchestrate ADEs and Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs) across MBB-led engagements, engaging the right expertise at each phase.

  • Guide partners and customers through critical decisions on platform design, scalability, governance, safety, and reliability.

  • Support the development of repeatable industry solutions and transformation patterns built on the OpenAI platform.

  • Act as a technical escalation point during complex or high-risk phases of delivery to reduce execution risk.

  • Represent MBB partners internally, synthesising insights from large-scale programmes into actionable input for Product and Research teams.

You will thrive in this role if you:

  • Have held a highly technical role at McKinsey, BCG, or Bain (e.g., Partner, Principal, Senior Expert, or equivalent) - preferred.

  • Have 10+ years of experience in enterprise architecture, AI/ML platforms, solution delivery, or technology strategy.

  • Bring a strong combination of deep technical expertise and commercial or advisory experience.

  • Have led or supported large-scale enterprise transformation programmes alongside senior client executives.

  • Possess industry expertise in at least one of the following: Financial Services; Pharma & Life Sciences; Healthcare; Retail.

  • Are comfortable operating in ambiguous environments and balancing strategic intent with delivery constraints.

  • Can engage credibly in boardrooms, executive workshops, and deep technical design sessions.

  • Take ownership of outcomes and are comfortable leading without direct line authority.

  • Bring a collaborative mindset and enjoy working across advisory partners, product teams, and GTM organisations.

Where to Advertise AI Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Advertising AI jobs in the UK requires a different approach to most technical hiring. The candidate pool is small, highly informed and in demand across multiple sectors simultaneously. General job boards reach a broad audience but lack the specificity that AI professionals expect — and the filtering mechanisms they rely on. Specialist platforms, direct outreach and academic channels each serve a different part of the market. This guide, published by ArtificialIntelligenceJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise AI roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about time-to-hire across different role types.

How Many AI Tools Do You Need to Know to Get an AI Job?

If you are job hunting in AI right now it can feel like you are drowning in tools. Every week there is a new framework, a new “must-learn” platform or a new productivity app that everyone on LinkedIn seems to be using. The result is predictable: job seekers panic-learn a long list of tools without actually getting better at delivering outcomes. Here is the truth most hiring managers will quietly agree with. They do not hire you because you know 27 tools. They hire you because you can solve a problem, communicate trade-offs, ship something reliable and improve it with feedback. Tools matter, but only in service of outcomes. So how many AI tools do you actually need to know? For most AI job seekers: fewer than you think. You need a tight core toolkit plus a role-specific layer. Everything else is optional. This guide breaks it down clearly, gives you a simple framework to choose what to learn and shows you how to present your toolset on your CV, portfolio and interviews.
