Systems Engineer – Modelling & Simulation

Salary: £40,000–£58,000, depending on experience

Location: Stevenage (preferred), Bristol or Bolton – hybrid working (3–5 days a week on-site)

Support the development of sophisticated algorithms, simulations and sensor technologies that play a critical role in delivering advanced defence capability.

You will contribute to multiple programmes, support field trials and laboratory testing, and develop your technical expertise alongside experienced engineers.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain models and simulations using MATLAB and related tools

Support algorithm development for advanced defence systems

Perform systems studies, data analysis and technical investigations

Contribute to field trials, laboratory testing and continuous improvement activities

Requirements:

Degree in a STEM discipline or equivalent engineering experience

Experience with modelling and coding using MATLAB

Knowledge of algorithm development and data analysis

Strong technical report writing and problem-solving skills

British Citizens eligible for high-level security clearance

Desirable Experience:

Simulink and Embedded Coder experience

Software or firmware development, particularly C or HDL

Knowledge of RF systems and digital signal processing

Model verification, configuration control and release processes

Continuous Integration and Testing

Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence
