- THE ROLE -

We seek to recruit an exceptional individual as Lecturer in Applied Artificial Intelligence (Teaching and Scholarship) to support the delivery of the North West Digital Employment Hub (NW DEPTH) project at Ulster University, Derry~Londonderry campus. NW DEPTH is a major cross-border initiative supported by PEACEPLUS, a programme managed by the Special EU Programmes Body (SEUPB), and led by Atlantic Technological University (ATU) in partnership with Ulster University, North West Regional College (NWRC), and Donegal Education and Training Board (DETB) through the North West Tertiary Education Cluster (NWTEC). The project aims to significantly enhance digital skills capacity and participation across the North-West region, delivering long-term impact on employability, entrepreneurship, and regional economic development. The post holder will join an interdisciplinary team and will contribute primarily to the delivery and enhancement of teaching within the subject area of AI and Computing within the School of Computing, Engineering & Intelligent Systems, Faculty of Computing, Engineering and the Built Environment on the Derry~Londonderry campus. In addition to teaching and scholarship, the role will involve contributing to curriculum innovation, learner engagement, and pedagogical development aligned to the digital skills priorities of NW DEPTH, as well as supporting project-related education and skills-development activities with regional partners. This fixed-term post offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to transformative, regionally focused digital education, while developing a strong teaching and scholarship profile within a research-informed academic environment.

- ABOUT YOU -

- An honours degree in Computing, AI, Data Science or a very closely related subject area.
- A teaching qualification for Higher Education, or Associate or Fellowship of the Higher Education Academy.
- An advanced level of knowledge and experience of the application of AI with specific experience in Generative AI and the ethics of AI or governance of AI.
- Experience teaching at University level in relevant AI or Computing or cognate subjects.
