Multiverse is the upskilling platform for AI and Tech adoption.

We have partnered with 1,500+ companies to deliver a new kind of learning that's transforming today’s workforce.

Our upskilling apprenticeships are designed for people of any age and career stage to build critical AI, data, and tech skills. Our learners have driven $2bn+ ROI for their employers, using the skills they’ve learned to improve productivity and measurable performance.

In June 2022, we announced a $220 million Series D funding round co-led by StepStone Group, Lightspeed Venture Partners and General Catalyst. With a post-money valuation of $1.7bn, the round makes us the UK’s first EdTech unicorn.

But we aren’t stopping there. With a strong operational footprint and 800+ employees, we have ambitious plans to continue scaling. We’re building a world where tech skills unlock people’s potential and output.

Join Multiverse and power our mission to equip the workforce to win in the AI era.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a technically strong IT Technical Lead to join our lean IT Operations team. This is a hands-on role with real scope - you'll be trusted to own critical programmes end-to-end, build automation that genuinely reduces toil, and act as a technical authority across projects that span the full business.

You'll report directly to the Head of IT Operations and work closely with Engineering, Security, Legal, and People teams. If you enjoy solving hard technical problems, building things that scale, and seeing your work have a direct impact on a company people love - this is the role for you.

What You'll Do

Build and ship automations that actually matter

  • Identify manual bottlenecks across IT Operations and design smarter, automated workflows - from user provisioning and licence management to compliance reporting and support triage

  • You won't just be maintaining systems; you'll be building the scalable foundations we need as the business grows

  • Own your automations end-to-end - design, build, document, and maintain them so they're resilient and understood by the whole team

Drive our most critical technical programmes

  • Lead complex, cross-functional IT programmes from initiation through to delivery, coordinating across Engineering, Security, and wider business stakeholders

  • Own compliance and certification workstreams, ensuring controls, evidence, and audit readiness are maintained to a high standard

  • Drive tooling strategy and rationalisation initiatives, working with department leads to reduce complexity and realise cost savings across the business

Keep projects moving and stakeholders in the loop

  • Own end-to-end delivery across multiple IT projects simultaneously - from scoping through to post-implementation review

  • Be a clear and reliable communicator with stakeholders across Engineering, Legal, Finance, and People - translating technical complexity without losing the detail

  • Support the Head of IT Operations in planning and prioritising the team's workload as the function scales

What You'll Bring

We value different perspectives and a variety of backgrounds. Technical depth matters, but we care just as much about your mindset - the way you approach problems, the rigour you bring to your work, and your drive to build things that last.

We'd love to hear from you if:

  • You have solid hands-on experience in an IT technical or infrastructure role - you're comfortable building the bridge yourself, not just speccing it out

  • You have an automation-first mindset and a track record of using tools to reduce repetitive work and scale operations

  • You understand IT security frameworks - particularly ISO 27001 - and know what good looks like when it comes to controls, evidence, and audit readiness

  • You're experienced with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365 administration at an enterprise level

  • You're comfortable working directly with APIs, webhooks, and lightweight scripting (Python, Bash, or similar) - you enjoy getting into the details

  • You're highly organised, write clear documentation, and hold yourself to a high standard without being prompted

  • You're a calm, clear communicator who can hold your own in a room with senior stakeholders

Bonus points (but not required) for:

  • Experience supporting or integrating systems through an M&A process

  • Familiarity with tools like Zapier, JumpCloud, Jamf, or Okta

  • A background in high-growth tech or edtech environments

  • Exposure to GDPR and data protection compliance in a technology context

What We Offer

  • A genuinely high-impact role - you'll own programmes that touch the whole business, not just tickets in a queue

  • A lean, collaborative team where your judgement is trusted and your work is visible

  • The chance to build and shape how IT Operations scales at a fast-growing edtech company

We value what you bring. At Multiverse, we are committed to building a team that reflects the diversity of the world we live in. We are actively working to improve diversity within our technical departments.

Not a "perfect" match? Apply anyway. Research shows that while some candidates apply for roles when they meet a portion of the criteria, they often only apply if they meet every single requirement. We don't want you to miss out. If you are passionate about this role and have a solid technical foundation, but don't check every single "Bonus" box, please still submit your application. We hire for potential, mindset, and the unique perspective you bring.

Benefits

  • Time off - 27 days holiday, plus 5 additional days off: 1 life event day, 2 volunteer days, 2 company-wide wellbeing days (M-Powered Weekend) and 8 bank holidays per year

  • Health & Wellness- private medical Insurance with Bupa, a medical cashback scheme, life insurance, gym membership & wellness resources through Wellhub and access to Spill - all in one mental health support

  • Hybrid work offering - for most roles we collaborate in the office three days per week with the exception of Coaches and Instructors who collaborate in the office once a month

  • Work-from-anywhere scheme- you'll have the opportunity to work from anywhere, up to 10 days per year

  • Space to connect: Beyond the desk, we make time for weekly catch-ups, seasonal celebrations, and have a kitchen that’s always stocked!

We’re an equal opportunities employer. And proud of it. Every applicant and employee is afforded the same opportunities regardless of race, colour, ancestry, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, gender, gender identity or expression, or veteran status. Our Commitment to Safeguarding

Multiverse is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of our learners. We expect all employees to share this commitment and adhere to our Safeguarding Policy, our Prevent Policy and all other Multiverse company policies. Successful applicants will be required to undertake at least a Basic check via the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS).

For roles that will involve a Regulated Activity, successful applicants must also undergo an Enhanced DBS check, including a Children’s Barred List check and a Prohibition Order check. Roles involving Regulated Activity may interact with vulnerable groups, therefore are exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 meaning applicants are required to declare any convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings.

Providing false information is an offence and could result in the application being rejected or summary dismissal if the applicant has been selected, and possible referral to the police and the DBS.

Where to Advertise AI Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Advertising AI jobs in the UK requires a different approach to most technical hiring. The candidate pool is small, highly informed and in demand across multiple sectors simultaneously. General job boards reach a broad audience but lack the specificity that AI professionals expect — and the filtering mechanisms they rely on. Specialist platforms, direct outreach and academic channels each serve a different part of the market. This guide, published by ArtificialIntelligenceJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise AI roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about time-to-hire across different role types.

New AI Employers to Watch in 2026: UK and Global Companies Reshaping AI Careers

The artificial intelligence job market in the UK is evolving at an extraordinary pace. With record-breaking investment, government backing, and a surge in enterprise adoption, the landscape of AI employers is shifting rapidly. For candidates exploring opportunities on ArtificialIntelligenceJobs.co.uk, understanding who is hiring next is just as important as understanding what skills are in demand. In this article, we explore the new and emerging AI employers to watch in 2026, focusing on organisations that have recently secured funding, won major contracts, or expanded their UK footprint. From cutting-edge startups to global giants doubling down on Britain, these companies represent the next wave of AI career opportunities.

How Many AI Tools Do You Need to Know to Get an AI Job?

If you are job hunting in AI right now it can feel like you are drowning in tools. Every week there is a new framework, a new “must-learn” platform or a new productivity app that everyone on LinkedIn seems to be using. The result is predictable: job seekers panic-learn a long list of tools without actually getting better at delivering outcomes. Here is the truth most hiring managers will quietly agree with. They do not hire you because you know 27 tools. They hire you because you can solve a problem, communicate trade-offs, ship something reliable and improve it with feedback. Tools matter, but only in service of outcomes. So how many AI tools do you actually need to know? For most AI job seekers: fewer than you think. You need a tight core toolkit plus a role-specific layer. Everything else is optional. This guide breaks it down clearly, gives you a simple framework to choose what to learn and shows you how to present your toolset on your CV, portfolio and interviews.
