Are you a Full Stack Engineer who is technology agnostic and passionate about using AI as part of the SDLC? If so, read on!

My client is an AI focused startup. They are on a mission to turn months of work into days. Not with a slightly-better tool; with a fundamentally different way of doing things. This is a founding hire, which means you're not joining a team, you're building one.

As a Founding Full-Stack Engineer, you'll be responsible for / touch everything; frontend, backend, the AI agents that are the whole point of what they are building. You'll sit shoulder-to-shoulder with the founders, digging out the kind of hard-won expertise that usually lives in someone's head, and turning it into a system that keeps getting smarter. And you'll get in front of real customers early and often, because they'd rather build the right thing slowly than the wrong thing fast.

As a Founding Full Stack Engineer, the following will apply:

  • People look at your GitHub/projects and just get it. No convincing required
  • You're the kind of engineer who doesn't care what language or stack, you care about solving the actual problem, from first principles
  • You've made LLMs a real part of how you build, not a party trick
  • You like talking to non-technical people and actually enjoy figuring out what they need (as opposed to just wanting to code in a dark room)

As a Founding Full Stack Engineer, you will be a strong communicator with a keen eye for detail. A passion for using the right technologies to solve the problem is also key.

What Is an AI Forward Deployed Engineer? The Fastest-Growing Job in AI for 2026

If you have been watching AI job boards over the past year, one title keeps surfacing again and again: the forward deployed engineer, or FDE. It has gone from a niche term known mainly to Palantir alumni to arguably the hottest role in the entire AI hiring market. Job postings for forward deployed engineers have exploded, salaries have climbed past levels most software engineers will ever see, and the biggest names in AI — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Salesforce, Databricks and Palantir — are all competing for the same small pool of talent. So what exactly is an AI forward deployed engineer, why has demand surged so dramatically, and how do you position yourself to land one of these roles? This guide breaks it all down for AI engineers, software engineers and data scientists looking at their next move.
