The Opportunity

Reporting to the Finance Manager, this pivotal role offers an experienced Senior Financial Accountant the opportunity to drive financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance across our North American entities. You will serve as a key lead in the period-end cycle while partnering with cross-functional stakeholders to optimize working capital, payroll, and core transactional operations.

Requirements

  • Preparing and reviewing financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules, including reconciliation and alignment with HQ’s ERP system,
  • Supporting payroll processes and associated financial controls,
  • Payment run coordination and review,
  • Managing accounts receivable processes, including monitoring balances and supporting collections,
  • Performing and reviewing bank reconciliations,
  • Supporting inventory accounting, including control and reconciliation of raw materials and consumables,
  • Supporting monthly, half-year, and year-end close processes in line with group policies
  • Supporting statutory reporting and HQ audit processes, including liaising with external auditors and internal finance teams,
  • Preparing insightful reporting packs with clear commentary for key stakeholders, including consolidation packages
  • Support the budget preparation
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams including Tax, Treasury, and Commercial Finance
  • Managing relationships with external accounting providers where applicable
  • Supporting intercompany processes, including reconciliation and resolution of differences
  • Providing support on North American taxes and compliance activities as required
  • Ensuring financial data is accurate for reporting and disclosure purposes
  • Supporting the maintenance and enhancement of financial controls and processes
  • Identifying opportunities to improve, standardise and automate processes
  • Supporting the implementation of new processes, systems, or business initiatives
  • Working to define reporting timelines and deadlines

Essential Criteria

  • Relevant financial qualifications (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or European equivalent) and understanding of relevant regulatory environments
  • US/Canadian GAAP knowledge
  • Strong English communication and written skills
  • Experience with Oracle Fusion or similar ERP systems
  • Experience with external auditors (good to have) and third party external advisors
  • Understanding of relevant regulatory environments
  • Understanding of core financial processes and relevant systems
  • Knowledge of accounting, tax and reporting standards & principles,
  • Experience in a fast-paced global environment (preferable)
  • Experience in delivering great customer / user experience (preferable)
  • Experience in process improvement, automation
