About the Business

Our client is a fast-growing, forward-thinking consultancy and product team dedicated to transforming finance operations. They help finance teams redesign and automate manual, messy processes using modern software, smart workflow design, and practical AI.

Their mission is to help organisations move away from manual admin and toward a modern, exceptions-led way of working.

The Role

We are seeking a qualified accountant who thrives at the intersection of finance, systems, change, and delivery.

This is not a traditional finance role, nor is it a pure project management position. Working closely with leadership, you will initially support live client workstreams, product development, and internal operations, progressively taking full ownership as the business scales.

You will get under the bonnet of complex finance processes, turn ambiguous requirements into clear solutions, test outputs, and drive projects through to completion. Sometimes the solution will involve AI; often it will be better process design, clearer controls, or streamlined software workflows.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Optimisation: Analyse client finance workflows, challenge existing practices, and design simpler, better-controlled alternatives.
  • Requirements & Solution Design: Translate finance requirements into clear solution notes, acceptance criteria, and developer specifications.
  • Testing & Quality Assurance: Plan and run User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring outputs align with accounting standards and commercial expectations.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner closely with developers to iterate rapidly on software and system fixes.
  • Delivery & Operations: Lead client implementation workstreams and build internal operational framework standards (e.g., client onboarding, due diligence, compliance).
  • Pattern Recognition: Identify repeated operational challenges that can be developed into reusable playbooks or scalable software features.
  • Modern Tooling: Utilize AI and modern platforms to accelerate documentation, analysis, requirements gathering, and solution design.
What We Are Looking For
  • Qualifications: Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent) with strong foundational accounting knowledge.
  • Delivery Track Record: Proven experience driving change, system improvements, or project delivery—not just contributing to them.
  • Systems Mindset: Strong technical awareness to bridge the gap between finance teams and software developers.
  • Stakeholder Management: Confidence working directly with clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: A practical, commercial approach with comfort managing ambiguity and prioritizing effectively.
  • Curiosity: Passion for exploring how finance can operate faster, smarter, and with less friction.
Experience with UAT, systems implementations, low-code tools, SQL, Power Query, or modern AI development workflows is a plus, but not essential.

Why Apply?

This is a rare opportunity to join an ambitious business early and genuinely shape how solutions are built and delivered. If you love finance but don’t want to spend the next decade closing ledgers or producing routine month-end reports, this role offers direct exposure to product decisions, modern finance tech, and strategic delivery.

What Is an AI Forward Deployed Engineer? The Fastest-Growing Job in AI for 2026

If you have been watching AI job boards over the past year, one title keeps surfacing again and again: the forward deployed engineer, or FDE. It has gone from a niche term known mainly to Palantir alumni to arguably the hottest role in the entire AI hiring market. Job postings for forward deployed engineers have exploded, salaries have climbed past levels most software engineers will ever see, and the biggest names in AI — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Salesforce, Databricks and Palantir — are all competing for the same small pool of talent. So what exactly is an AI forward deployed engineer, why has demand surged so dramatically, and how do you position yourself to land one of these roles? This guide breaks it all down for AI engineers, software engineers and data scientists looking at their next move.
