DevOps Team Leader | Deployment Services | Hybrid Working | Athens

Introduction:

Ocado Technology is changing the way the world shops using advanced Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Robotics, Big Data, Cloud and IoT. We develop the innovative software and hardware systems that power Ocado.com, as well as the unique ‘Ocado Smart Platform’ which is being implemented by ambitious retailers across the world from Europe to America, Asia and beyond.

Ocado Technology - Greece (acquisition):https://www.myrmex-inc.com/blog/19

Our R&D department is based in Athens, Greece, where a team of brilliant engineers are developing disruptive material handling systems for the online grocery industry and other retail verticals. We pioneer innovative order fulfilment solutions and last-mile delivery business models tailored for retailers and supply chain-intensive sectors. Our mission is to assist them in overcoming the challenges inherent in modernising their systems and processes to effectively address complex industry issues. Some of the most innovative retailers globally have already partnered with us, and we are delivering products and services for them.

If you are excited about the cross-section where machines meet humans, about the future of work, retail and supply chains, and want to help transform the European logistics industry via Greek technologies, we are interested in getting to know you.

About the Role

As the DevOps Team Leader, you will drive the technical development of our software architecture for Siemens and Beckhoff PLC deployments across a global estate of over 6,000 devices. You will lead a team in creating reliable, SOC2-compliant deployment processes and maintain our core "Station-Builder" application using C# and React.

Combining technical leadership with hands-on engineering, you will mentor the team through agile ceremonies and architectural reviews to ensure high-quality delivery. By exploiting peripheral SDKs and optimizing AWS infrastructure, you will play a critical role in evolving the automated pipelines that power our international logistics success.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive the technical development and continuous improvement of CI/CD pipelines for Siemens and Beckhoff PLC deployments.
  • Lead and facilitate work review sessions to make key technical and architectural decisions.
  • Develop and maintain the "Station-Builder" core using C#, ASP.NET, and .NET 9.0.
  • Create and improve automated testing pipelines (Unit, Integration, E2E) as part of the CI/CD process.
  • Optimise CI/CD runner efficiency for heavy Windows-based workloads, including TIA Portal and TwinCAT environments.
  • Automate the deployment of PLC 'Boot Projects' and hardware configurations to distributed on-site assets.
  • Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure and pipelines via AWS and GitLab.
  • Mentor and coach the team on new coding practices, architecture, and design.
  • Lead agile ceremonies, including stand-ups, sprint planning, grooming, and retrospectives.
  • Ensure all deployment processes and pipelines remain SOC2 compliant and adhere to SDLC guidelines.

What We’re Looking For

Essential

  • Strong background in Object-Oriented Programming (C#, .NET, or Java) and OO principles.
  • Proven experience in Software Development with a focus on product development and scalable architecture.
  • Deep understanding of CI/CD pipelines, GitLab, and cloud services (AWS).
  • Experience with testing principles and the testing pyramid (Unit, Integration, End-to-End).
  • Knowledge of Windows and Linux operating systems, plus Python 3 scripting.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to interact robustly with internal stakeholders.
  • A 2:1 or 1st class degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a highly numerate subject.

Nice to Haves

  • Familiarity with Siemens TIA Openness API or Beckhoff TwinCAT .NET library.
  • Experience with React for front-end tooling development.
  • Knowledge of Google BigQuery or SQL.
  • Experience working within an Agile methodology.

Benefits

Our employee benefits are designed for you. We care about people and we've ensured we have a wealth of benefits that focus on your well-being. We regularly review our benefits to ensure we are supporting our employees appropriately. Currently, we offer technically stretching work, a competitive salary and:

  • A hybrid working policy that sees you in the office typically 40% of your time.
  • 30 days 'working from anywhere' policy
  • Private Medical Insurance
  • Meal tickets
  • Home office equipment
  • Opportunity to participate in share schemes
  • Regular divisional socials, sports clubs and access to the Ocado Technology Academy for a packed schedule of courses, conferences and events.

If you think you have what it takes to make a difference, please submit your application below.

Be bold, be unique, be brilliant, be you. We are looking for individuality and we value diversity. We are an equal opportunities employer and we are committed to treating all applicants and employees fairly and equally. We are committed to making reasonable adjustments to provide a positive, barrier-free recruitment process and supportive work environment. If you have any support or access requirements, we encourage you to advise us at the time of application.

Where to Advertise AI Jobs in the UK (2026 Guide)

Where to advertise AI jobs UK in 2026: the specialist boards and communities that reach AI engineers, ML scientists and applied research talent in the UK. The candidate pool is small, highly informed and in demand across multiple sectors simultaneously. General job boards reach a broad audience but lack the specificity that AI professionals expect — and the filtering mechanisms they rely on. Specialist platforms, direct outreach and academic channels each serve a different part of the market. This guide, published by ArtificialIntelligenceJobs.co.uk, covers where to advertise AI roles in the UK in 2026, how the main platforms compare, what employers should expect to pay, and what the data says about time-to-hire across different role types.

AI Jobs UK 2026: What to Expect Over the Next 3 Years

AI Jobs UK 2026: roles, salaries and the generative AI, machine learning and applied AI hiring trends shaping UK artificial intelligence careers. Artificial intelligence is creating jobs faster than the market can name them. New roles are appearing every quarter, existing titles are splitting into specialisms, and the technologies underpinning it all are evolving at a pace that makes even last year's job descriptions feel dated. For job seekers, this presents a genuinely unusual challenge. In most industries, career planning means understanding a relatively stable landscape and working out where you fit within it. In AI, the landscape itself is being redrawn in real time. The roles with the most hiring activity in 2028 may not yet have a widely agreed job title in 2026. That's not a reason to feel overwhelmed — it's a reason to get informed. The candidates who thrive in this market aren't necessarily those with the longest CVs or the most credentials. They're the ones who understand the direction of travel: which skills are gaining value, which technologies are driving employer decisions, and how the definition of an "AI job" is expanding well beyond the tech sector. This article breaks down what the UK AI jobs market is likely to look like over the next three years — covering emerging job titles, the technologies reshaping hiring, the skills employers are prioritising, and how to position yourself ahead of the curve rather than behind it.
