Your Roles and Responsibilities:
While in this position your duties may include but will not be limited to:
  • Developing and maintaining robust data solutions to support predictive modelling and advanced analytical projects
  • Designing, building and deploying machine learning models to support credit risk management and wider business optimisation initiatives
  • Deploying predictive models into production environments, collaborating closely with software engineering teams to deliver scalable technical solutions
  • Monitoring model performance to ensure ongoing technical accuracy and commercial effectiveness
  • Analysing model outputs and business performance data to generate meaningful insights and drive continuous improvement
  • Conducting research and development projects to evaluate emerging technologies, data sources and modelling techniques
  • Working with large, structured and unstructured datasets to identify trends, risks and commercial opportunities
  • Collaborating with cross-functional stakeholders across technology, operations, legal, compliance, marketing and commercial functions
  • Supporting strategic business initiatives through data-driven recommendations and analytical expertise
  • Contributing towards the continuous evolution of the organisation's analytics capabilities and decision science function
What You Will Need to Apply:
The ideal candidate for this role will possess previous experience working as a Decision Scientist, Data Scientist or within a similar analytical position, ideally within financial services or another consumer-focused industry.
Applicants should hold a strong academic background within a STEM or quantitative discipline and demonstrate excellent technical capabilities, including proficiency in Python, SQL and Git. Practical experience deploying machine learning models within cloud-based environments, particularly using AWS SageMaker, will be highly advantageous.
Candidates should possess a solid understanding of statistical modelling techniques and demonstrate a genuine enthusiasm for machine learning, predictive analytics and emerging technologies. Experience working with large, complex datasets and transforming data into meaningful commercial insight will be essential.
Exposure to consumer lending, credit risk modelling, Credit Reference Agency data or Open Banking data would be beneficial, although not essential. Experience using DBT or similar modern data transformation tools would also be viewed favourably.
The successful individual will be commercially aware, analytical and highly inquisitive, with excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels. They will be proactive, collaborative and motivated by working within a fast-paced, high-growth environment where innovation and continuous improvement are highly valued.

What You Will Get in Return:
For the successful candidate, a salary of up to £90,000 and comprehensive benefits package will be offered, reflective of experience and expertise.
