  • Translate business requirements into epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and delivery roadmaps.

  • Drive the development and adoption of AI-enabled solutions, including Generative AI, intelligent automation, copilots, and agent-based workflows.

  • Partner with data, engineering, architecture, and delivery teams to ensure products are scalable, secure, and fit for purpose.

  • Define success metrics, business outcomes, and performance measures for new products and initiatives.

  • Support experimentation, proof-of-concepts, and AI use case discovery activities.

  • Ensure appropriate governance, privacy, compliance, and responsible AI considerations are incorporated into product delivery.

  • Coordinate testing, user acceptance activities, release planning, and stakeholder communication.

  • Monitor product performance and continuously identify opportunities for optimisation and enhancement.

Skills & Experience Required
  • 3+ year's experience as a Product Owner, Product Manager, or Business Analyst within Data, Analytics, AI, Automation, BI, or Digital Product environments.

  • Strong experience managing and prioritising product backlogs.

  • Demonstrable experience delivering data, analytics, reporting, automation, or AI-focused initiatives.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and requirements gathering skills.

  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies including Scrum and Kanban.

  • Understanding of Generative AI, AI-enabled products, machine learning concepts, intelligent automation, or agentic AI.

  • Experience defining requirements and working collaboratively with technical teams.

  • Knowledge of Power BI and self-service reporting environments.

  • Understanding of data modelling concepts, including metrics, lineage, governance, and semantic models.

  • Familiarity with data privacy, governance, security, and regulatory considerations.

Desirable Experience

  • Exposure to Azure data and AI technologies.

  • Experience supporting AI adoption and change management initiatives.

  • Understanding of modern data platforms and analytics ecosystems.

  • Enhanced pension contribution.

  • Flexible and hybrid working arrangements.

  • Professional development and learning opportunities.

  • Access to cutting-edge AI and data initiatives.

  • Opportunity to influence enterprise-wide technology strategy and innovation.

If you have been watching AI job boards over the past year, one title keeps surfacing again and again: the forward deployed engineer, or FDE. It has gone from a niche term known mainly to Palantir alumni to arguably the hottest role in the entire AI hiring market. So what exactly is an AI forward deployed engineer, why has demand surged so dramatically, and how do you position yourself to land one of these roles? This guide breaks it all down for AI engineers, software engineers and data scientists looking at their next move.
