We are recruiting for a Building Energy and Management Systems Engineer to join our team in London on a permanent basis. This is a great opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic candidate to join a global account team.

The Building Energy Management Systems Engineer will ensure the optimal and reliable performance of Building Management Systems (BMS), energy-related systems, and critical building services across Bank of America's London estate. The role combines technical monitoring, fault resolution, reliability reporting, energy performance optimisation, and support for environmental compliance-helping CBRE deliver a safe, efficient, resilient and sustainable workplace experience.

What you'll do:

Monitor, operate and optimise BEMS systems, ensuring environmental conditions always meet CBRE & Client-specified parameters.

Identify, investigate and resolve BMS alarms or escalate through the correct channels where needed.

Proactively identify opportunities to reduce energy consumption and improve operating efficiency.

Produce monthly equipment reliability reports and trend analysis

Predictive failure analysis of critical equipment

Analyse graphical data, trends, and alarms to diagnose plant faults and system inefficiencies.

Track energy usage and environmental conditions (temperature, CO₂, humidity, etc.) using BMS and supporting digital platforms

Lead and identify energy-reduction initiatives by recommending and implementing plant optimisation strategies.

Reporting of data centre energy efficiency and critical system reliability

Work closely with CBRE and client sustainability teams to improve building energy performance and support NetZero initiative

Physically conduct routine inspections, calibration of field devices, preventative maintenance and corrective repairs on BMS-connected building services and plant.

Physically assist mechanical and electrical teams to diagnose faults on HVAC, electrical, and building services systems.

Providing and participating in audit and compliance reports

Ensure all reactive and planned maintenance tasks are recorded accurately within the CBRE system.

Produce weekly and ad-hoc reports detailing anomalies, environmental events, energy trends, and system performance

Weekly and monthly meter readings/reports and monitoring & analysis of energy use

Maintain compliance with contractual KPIs, SLAs, and Health & Safety requirements.

Develop strong working relationships with client representatives, CBRE colleagues, subcontractors and data analysts.

Carry out hands-on repairs/replacements to building services equipment, including Variable Air Volume (VAV) boxes and Fan Coil Units (FCUs), which will involve accessing ceiling voids, climbing ladders, working at height, and handling tools and equipment. Physically capable of lifting 25kgs.

Arrange and oversee all BEMS-related Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) activities and reactive callouts, ensuring tasks are scheduled, delivered, and recorded in line with CBRE and client standards. This includes working closely with specialist BEMS contractors, coordinating access, supporting their investigations, and ensuring all remedial actions are completed to a high technical standard.

What you'll need:

Formal training in electrical, mechanical, HVAC, chiller or BMS control systems.

CNET or similar accreditation such as CDCTP CDCMP CDCSP

Experience of senior engineer access levels to building automation systems examples such as Trend, Distech, Siemens, Sauter, Honeywell, Carel.

Experience of lighting control systems

Experience & knowledge of network IT infrastructure/networks

Experience in data centre or critical workplace environments.

Understanding of energy-management principles and low-carbon building operation.

Deep knowledge of Building Management Systems, including operation, monitoring, diagnostics, and alarm interpretation.

Experience maintaining mechanical and electrical building services equipment

Ability to analyse system performance data and implement technical improvements.

Highly competent IT skills and familiarity with digital building platforms.

Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and within a team.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills to work with technical teams and client stakeholders.

Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to maintaining high service standards.

Attention to detail with a focus on continuous improvement and energy efficiency.
