AI Solutions Engineer, Microsoft Tech Stack, Azure DevOps, Co-pilot Studio, Professional Services, City of London

AI Solutions Engineer required to work for a Professional Services business based in the City of London. This will be 3 days in the office per week and the other 2 days from home.

The AI Solutions Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the development and deployment of artificial intelligence (AI) solutions across the firm. This role will play a key part in designing, building, and maintaining trusted AI that enhances legal service delivery, knowledge management, and operational efficiency. It is ESSENTIAL for you to have extensive experience within the Microsoft Ecosystem.

The role offers the opportunity to influence and shape the use of AI across the firm. Also, this is a hands-on technical role, working closely with senior stakeholders, knowledge professionals and business services teams to deliver and support secure and scalable AI solutions. Read on for more details…

Experience required:

  • Practical experience building and deploying AI or machine learning solutions into production, rather than purely academic, research or proof-of-concept experience.
  • Strong Microsoft AI technology experience, particularly Copilot Studio, Azure AI Foundry and Azure DevOps.
  • Software development capability, ideally with Python; JavaScript or other development languages would be an advantage.
  • A solid technical understanding of LLMs, NLP, machine learning fundamentals and prompt engineering.
  • Experience designing prompts, grounding strategies and knowledge integrations to produce reliable AI responses.
  • An ability to work with agentic AI and integrate AI solutions into existing workflows and core business systems.
  • Experience assessing and integrating third-party AI platforms and tools, including building proofs of concept and contributing to build-versus-buy decisions.
  • A good understanding of AI security, data privacy, access controls and auditability, together with awareness of relevant regulatory requirements including GDPR and the EU AI Act.
  • Strong stakeholder skills and the ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and explain complex AI concepts clearly to non-technical users.
  • A pragmatic and risk-aware approach. Given the environment, we need someone focused on trusted, reliable and explainable AI rather than simply experimenting with the latest technology.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail and the ability to work effectively across different teams, functions and international offices.
  • Legal or professional services experience would be beneficial but is not essential.
  • Our client would be interested in strong AI engineers from other complex professional environments where security, confidentiality and reliability are important.
  • Hands-on AI engineering experience where you have built and deployed production AI solutions, ideally within the Microsoft ecosystem.
  • This is NOT purely a strategic AI / innovation person we are looking for, nor a traditional data scientist without strong software engineering and solution-delivery experience.

This is a great opportunity and salary is dependent upon experience. Apply now for more details…

So what exactly is an AI forward deployed engineer, why has demand surged so dramatically, and how do you position yourself to land one of these roles? This guide breaks it all down for AI engineers, software engineers and data scientists looking at their next move.
