AI Security Software Engineer (GenAI & LLM Security)

Location: London (Hybrid - 1-2 days per week in the office)

Salary: Up to £90,000 + Bonus + Excellent Benefits

We're partnering with a leading global technology consultancy that's expanding its AI Security and Engineering practice. As organisations rapidly adopt Generative AI, this team is focused on building secure, enterprise-grade AI platforms that protect Large Language Model (LLM) applications from emerging threats.

We're looking for an experienced AI Security Software Engineer to design and develop innovative security solutions that safeguard enterprise AI applications. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of Cyber Security, Software Engineering, and Generative AI, helping shape the future of secure AI adoption across global organisations.

The Role

As an AI Security Software Engineer, you'll be responsible for designing, developing and enhancing a cutting-edge GenAI security platform that protects enterprise AI and LLM applications against prompt injection attacks, adversarial inputs and other emerging AI security risks.

You'll build scalable security capabilities, develop automated testing frameworks, and create robust APIs and services that operate across large enterprise environments. Working alongside engineering, security and operations teams, you'll play a key role in ensuring AI applications are secure, resilient and production-ready.

This role offers the opportunity to work on highly innovative AI security challenges while influencing the architecture and design of enterprise-scale software solutions.

What You'll Be Doing

Design, build and enhance secure platforms that protect Generative AI and LLM applications.

Develop automated security testing frameworks to validate AI protection mechanisms.

Build secure, scalable APIs and enterprise software solutions.

Contribute to the architecture and design of cloud-native, distributed applications.

Collaborate with engineering, cyber security and operations teams across global locations.

Develop software that performs reliably at enterprise scale.

Help define best practices for AI security, secure software development and cloud-native engineering.

What We're Looking For

You'll have a strong background in software engineering with experience building enterprise applications using Python and/or Go. You'll be comfortable designing secure APIs, developing scalable services, and working across the full software development lifecycle.

Experience with container technologies such as Kubernetes or OpenShift is essential, along with modern development tools including Git, Jenkins and CI/CD pipelines.

We're particularly interested in engineers with exposure to Generative AI, Large Language Models (LLMs), Prompt Engineering, AI Security, DevSecOps, MLSecOps or adversarial testing. While direct experience securing AI platforms is highly desirable, candidates with strong software engineering and cyber security backgrounds looking to move into AI Security are also encouraged to apply.

Key Skills

7+ years' experience in software engineering or security engineering.

Strong Python and/or Go development experience.

Experience designing secure APIs and enterprise software.

Knowledge of cloud-native architectures and distributed systems.

Experience with Kubernetes, OpenShift or containerised deployments.

Familiarity with CI/CD, DevSecOps and secure software development practices.

Experience with Generative AI, LLMs, Prompt Engineering or AI Security is highly desirable.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

What's on Offer

You'll join one of the world's leading technology consultancies, working on some of the most exciting AI Security projects in the industry. Alongside a salary of up to £90,000, you'll receive an annual bonus, comprehensive benefits package, structured career development, access to cutting-edge AI technologies, industry certifications, and the opportunity to work alongside some of the brightest engineers in cloud, cyber security and artificial intelligence.

If you're passionate about secure software engineering, AI, and solving the next generation of cyber security challenges, we'd love to hear from you

What Is an AI Forward Deployed Engineer? The Fastest-Growing Job in AI for 2026

If you have been watching AI job boards over the past year, one title keeps surfacing again and again: the forward deployed engineer, or FDE. It has gone from a niche term known mainly to Palantir alumni to arguably the hottest role in the entire AI hiring market. Job postings for forward deployed engineers have exploded, salaries have climbed past levels most software engineers will ever see, and the biggest names in AI — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Salesforce, Databricks and Palantir — are all competing for the same small pool of talent. So what exactly is an AI forward deployed engineer, why has demand surged so dramatically, and how do you position yourself to land one of these roles? This guide breaks it all down for AI engineers, software engineers and data scientists looking at their next move.
