They're looking for an AI-Native Software Engineer to join a growing team developing cutting-edge cloud and AI products. This isn't a traditional engineering role. If you've embraced modern AI development workflows, enjoy solving complex technical problems, and want to help shape products from the ground up, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do
  • Build AI-native products and cloud-based applications
  • Leverage agentic AI development tools to accelerate delivery
  • Own projects from concept through to deployment
  • Work across multiple technologies and platforms
  • Collaborate with a highly technical team of engineers, researchers and AI specialists
  • Help shape engineering best practices in an AI-first environment
What We're Looking For
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals
  • Experience using AI tools to build and deliver production software
  • Ability to spot, troubleshoot and fix issues generated by AI-assisted development
  • Broad technical exposure across languages, frameworks and cloud technologies
  • Strong problem-solving ability and intellectual curiosity
  • Excellent academic background, ideally in a technical discipline
  • A mindset that embraces innovation rather than resists it
You'll Thrive Here If You...
  • See AI as a force multiplier rather than a threat
  • Enjoy learning new technologies and approaches
  • Like working in environments where things move quickly
  • Are comfortable with ambiguity and evolving roadmaps
  • Want to help define how modern engineering teams operate
Why Join?
  • Work on genuinely innovative AI and cloud technologies
  • Join a small, high-calibre team with significant influence
  • Help build products from the earliest stages
  • Share options available
  • Hybrid working in Cambridge
  • Opportunity to grow alongside a rapidly scaling business
The Person You're an engineer first and an AI enthusiast second. You understand the fundamentals, know how to build great software, and have fully embraced the new generation of AI development tools. You don't just use AI to code faster, you use it to build better.

If you're excited by the idea of helping shape the future of software engineering, we'd love to hear from you.

What Is an AI Forward Deployed Engineer? The Fastest-Growing Job in AI for 2026

If you have been watching AI job boards over the past year, one title keeps surfacing again and again: the forward deployed engineer, or FDE. It has gone from a niche term known mainly to Palantir alumni to arguably the hottest role in the entire AI hiring market. Job postings for forward deployed engineers have exploded, salaries have climbed past levels most software engineers will ever see, and the biggest names in AI — OpenAI, Anthropic, Google, Salesforce, Databricks and Palantir — are all competing for the same small pool of talent. So what exactly is an AI forward deployed engineer, why has demand surged so dramatically, and how do you position yourself to land one of these roles? This guide breaks it all down for AI engineers, software engineers and data scientists looking at their next move.
