My client are a global leader in consumer electronics who have an opportunity for a Web Standards Technologist based in Middlesex.

The Web Standards Technologist based in Middlesex. Will be responsible for contributing to the evolution of W3C and other relevant web standards; and to support content authors and the development community in building on those standards. My client have broad interest across the web platform; areas of work could range from foldable device support, to interop, DX, Machine Learning, and beyond. You would also be collaborating with other team members, who are active across a wide range of W3C activities. Other responsibilities include:

Represent the company and actively participate in W3C standards activities.
Contribute to the future direction of web standardisation in line with organisations browser and product roadmaps.
Guide product strategy to align with the evolution of web standards.
Engage with the developer community through blog posts, presentations at conferences, social media, and the production of developer documentation, to advocate for the uptake of web standards and Web Platform features.
Develop prototypes to guide the development of the APIs, and demos using the APIs (with internal and external partners).

The Web Standards Technologist, Middlesex, will have:

BS or higher degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Natural Science, Mathematics, Engineering or any related discipline.
Background in web development and good understanding of existing and emerging web standards - particularly those from W3C.
Experience in JavaScipt, HTML, Web APIs, the development toolchain and related technologies.
