Role Overview:

TheVolume Forecasting Performance Analystwill play a crucial role in forecasting energy demand and analysing volume performance to support operational planning and decision-making. This role will work closely with the forecasting, operations, and trading teams to ensure the accuracy of volume predictions and optimize energy resource management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Forecasting:Develop and maintain short-term and long-term energy demand forecasts using historical data, weather patterns, market trends, and other relevant factors.
  • Performance Analysis:Analyse forecasting accuracy, identify deviations, and provide insights to improve the forecasting models and methodologies.
  • Data Management:Work with large datasets to extract insights, ensuring data quality and consistency in forecasting models.
  • Collaboration:Collaborate with internal teams, including operations, trading, and risk management, to support energy planning and trading strategies.
  • Reporting:Prepare and present forecasting performance reports for key stakeholders, highlighting trends, risks, and potential improvements.
  • Model Improvement:Continuously refine and enhance forecasting models to improve accuracy and adapt to changing market conditions and new data inputs.
  • Scenario Analysis:Conduct scenario analysis to model the impact of different variables, such as weather, market conditions, and supply/demand fluctuations, on energy volumes.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A degree in Data Science, Mathematics, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in data analysis and forecasting.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools such as Excel, Python, R, or similar software.
  • Knowledge of energy markets and volume forecasting is a plus but not required.
  • Ability to communicate complex data insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
