What is the opportunity?

As a QIS trader you will play a pivotal role in developing, managing, and executing quantitative investment strategies across multiple asset classes, including equities, fixed income, commodities, and FX.

What will you do?

  • Work with a senior trader on the pricing of new trades and risk management of a cross asset QIS book.  
  • Trading Execution: Execute trades efficiently and effectively in accordance with the prescribed strategies and market conditions, leveraging sophisticated trading algorithms and platforms.
  • Risk Management: Monitor and manage portfolio risk, ensuring adherence to risk limits and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Strategy Development: Help with the Design and implement quantitative investment strategies across various asset classes to achieve competitive performance and manage risk.
  • Performance Monitoring: Continuously monitor and evaluate the performance of trading strategies, adjusting and optimizing as necessary to maintain competitive edge and profitability.
  • Client Interaction: Engage with clients to understand their investment objectives and work with QIS structuring to provide tailored QIS solutions, fostering strong relationships and ensuring client satisfaction.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with other traders, quantitative analysts, and technology teams to enhance trading infrastructure and optimize strategy implementation.
  • Help with strategy updates, and market insights for both internal and external stakeholders.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s or Masters degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Extensive experience in derivative trading or related roles within the financial services industry.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB, and experience with statistical modeling, machine learning, and data analysis.
  • Market Knowledge: Strong understanding of financial markets, instruments, and trading dynamics across multiple asset classes.
  • Analytical Acumen: Excellent quantitative and analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and identify actionable insights.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Team Player: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while managing multiple priorities.
