Joining our team, you'll work with world class and passionate people to focus on unlocking the value of data for our clients through product and service innovation. You will help deliver the holistic value of our broad range of propositions to retailers and brands through intuitive, connected experiences.

What you'll be working on

You'll join our growing Design team working closely with colleagues in Product, Engineering, Design and Brand to reimagine our product experience, designing for scale and speed.

Job purpose

  • Enhance user experience through the power of words by creating content that informs and delights users.
  • Inspire, shape and inform the design and content decisions we make to deliver exceptional user centric products by providing clarity, consistency and user-centric content that aligns with our tone of voice.
  • Be an integral member of the dunnhumby design team, working closely with Designers, UX Researchers, Product Managers, Engineers and stakeholders to understand requirements on complex B2B platforms in the data science domain.
  • Optimise copy based on data-driven insights, user feedback and best practice to ensure our products meet the needs of our users.
  • Collaborate throughout all stages of the product design and development process: researching, ideating, planning, writing and testing.
  • Write, review and localisation of content for the dunnhumby product portfolio.

Key accountabilities

  • Contribute to the development and refinement of content style guides and best practices.
  • Implement and maintain a consistent tone of voice in all user-facing products and communications.
  • Participate in user testing and feedback loops, incorporating insights to continuously improve content and enhance overall usability.
  • Liaise with the Content Manager to understand the content development, localisation and translation requirements.
  • Editing, proof-reading, and rewriting existing content.
  • Write, curate, maintain, and optimise product help content.
  • Contribute to the definition of in-product nomenclature and terminology, ensuring they make sense to users.
  • Collaborate with Brand and Product Design teams to create and maintain product content guidelines aligned to dunnhumby's brand strategy and messaging.
  • Participate in user research activities and incorporate insights to improve content and usability.
  • Follow translation processes and work with our translation agency to produce translated content for our clients.
  • Work across different product squads to develop new features and ensure consistency in language and messaging. Participate in user research and validation efforts
  • Align content with accessibility guidelines to make products inclusive for all users.
  • Stay up to date on industry trends and emerging practices in UX writing and content.

What we expect from you

  • Proven experience as a UX writer or content designer for digital products, preferably in a B2B setting.
  • Strong understanding of UX principles and how content shapes user experience.
  • Experience collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams.
  • Ability to conduct or contribute to content-focused user research.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with a clear, concise, and user-focused approach
  • Experience handling iterative design through an agile development process.


The nice-to-haves:

  • Experience of user research, usability testing, and incorporating user feedback into the content process.
  • Expertise in user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) design, interaction design, and other relevant design disciplines.
  • Proficiency with design and project management tools such as Figma, Miro, Jira, Confluence.
